So basically, they're not only saying that same-sex couples are unfit parents, they're also saying that single parents are unfit parents.
Stupid horse****ers.

One loving parent that isn't stressed out by a moron spouse is better than two parents tearing each other apart.
Two happy parents of any gender are better than one of either.
Too bad there are so many people so insecure about their own sexuality that they have to make life so difficult for others. :susp2:

That's one of the stupidest things I have ever seen. I do think it is important for a child to have a strong male and female relationship with an adult. But what is most important that the child sees in a marriage is the communication and work it takes to maintain one. It could be a same sex relationship or not, the child can still see that if the child has good parents.

People obviously don't have enough to worry about if this is a concern that plagues their mind.
There isn't enough love in the world as it is. If same sex couples want to get married and have a family, more power to them.
Although I was lucky enough to have parents that stayed married and were active in my life, I know of plenty that didn't have that luxury and turned out just fine, if not better than some of my friends that had both parents.

dang and i'm from ohio......a bunch of debates going on are just stupid, i can't say if i back them or not. they're just going over the top, trying (or have they already?) to ban same-sex marriage, passed something on banning smoking. I'm not either but dang! neither are that big of a deal...

I disagree with the ad completely, but I think it might be stretching of the truth a tad.
I live in Ohio and I've never heard Dewine or Voinovich make reference to any extreme statements like that. Again, I could be wrong and if its true, I'm not trying to defend them, I'm just saying there are two sides to everything and we all know how exaggerated things can get in politics.

ah, good point katlin. it would be wrong if you are correct and those words were just put in someone elses mouth.

In high school I had to do a debate on a similar subject, and I won the debate. I think the most simplest of my statements was the clincher for everyone. And it's basically the same thing that most of you are stating. Love does not have prejudice. I am not anti-homosexual, I am, in a way, all for it. I think love shows itself in many ways. And I believe that in many cases, homes with homosexuals there is more love than in "normal" households where a man and woman are married. Children need love regardless, it shouldn't matter where it comes from.
