I was out early this morning on my walk (wearing my Yankees/Jeter shirt) and a truck pulls up from behind me, slows down and pulls over next to me just to yell "Jeter sucks" .......now that is the mentality of a Sox fan :greyno:

I expected that sort of reaction being a Yankee fan at Fenway, but walking down a quiet neighborhood street at 6:30am no where near fenway

Hey its the duty of Red Sox Nation to say yankees suck or jeter suck or some other negative yankee remark. When you wear any type of yankees clothing you are opening yourself up for such type of remarks.

Do you live in the New England area by any chance?

But then again there is a rival between two teams and the teams fans, so of course there's always going to be remarks.

I get it everytime I wear anything Yankees related, and I live nowhere near the east coast. Sucks.

When I wear my Red Sox related things i normally get a positive reaction because most people here have made the right choice but there are yankees fan and they will make comments its expected, its normal and theres nothing wrong with it.

well, that is your opinion, but I think it is childish and stupid! I see plenty of people around in Red Sox gear and I don't make remarks to them.....it is their choice who they like as a team, it isn't a personal thing between us, so what do I care what they wear?? I don't think that it should be expected and if you think it is the "duty" of Red Sox fans to act that way then that is one sad and pathetic *nation*!!

It's not only Red Sox fans that comment on Yankees fans apparel. Yankees fans do their share of talking crap about Red Sox fans.

I live in MA, love my red sox... always will :). And yeah..... if someone is gonna wear yankees stuff, i'll tell them yankees suck. I even tell my brother (who is a huge yankees fan) they suck.... of course he then tells me red sox suck. And yankees fans shouldn't act like they don't say anything. They're always yelling "1918" and other things. I hate when yankees fans act like red sox fans are the "bad" people... cause it goes both ways. You can't take it.... then you should stop saying stuff about us. Red sox/ Yankees games are the best.... so much energy and so fun :). I went to one in july, and have another to go to next saturday (the 25th) :). And don't say only red sox fans would say such things (about yankees) cause i'll come right back and say only yankees fans would say such things about red sox. See.... goes both ways.

The other night when my friends are I were out, I saw this guy with a Boston shirt and hat on. I dared my friend to go say "1918" to him, and she did. She had no idea what she was saying to him, and he just gave her this weird look. I had to explain later what it meant.

well, first of all, I am not talking about saying things in fun...I will wear my Yankees shirts and have people say things to me jokingly and I can give it right back, and it is all in fun and done without being rude or mean.....I have 3 kids who are Sox fans and I respect that, we can still watch a game together and enjoy it and have fun yet still not take it over the line....some people get too intense with their own feelings and verbally attack others or let it control their lives ***coughstephenkingcough*** all I am saying is I shouldn't have to expect that behavior from a total stranger going out of his way to voice his opinions....it is not like I was at Fenway with thousands of Sox fans......I was walking my dog.....yes, I understand the rivalry, but I also understand baseball is supposed to be a sport, where is the sportsmanship?
