There is a candle in every soul
Some brightly burning, some dark and cold
There is a spirit who brings a fire
Ignites a candle, and makes his home

So carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the hopeless, confused and torn
And hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world

Frustrated brother, see how he's tried to
Light his own candle some other way
See now your sister,
She's been robbed and lied to
Still holds a candle without a flame

So carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the lonely, the tired and worn
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world

'Cause we are a family whose hearts are blazing
So let's raise our candles, and light up the sky
Praying to our father, in the name of Jesus
Make us a beacon in darkest times

So carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the helpless, deceived and poor
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world

Carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the hopeless, confused and torn
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world

It took me awhile to find those lyrics and I didnt notice I had gotten a hold of some poorly typed up lyrics and I simply copy and pasted. The lyrics should be about right now. Also, I heard this song recently on my local Christian radio station and I loved it. Chris Rice sings it, but apprently a lady named Kathy Troccoli also sings it, but I have not heard her version yet.

Kathy Troccoli is one of the most amazing singers I have ever heard...I like her version far better than the one Chris Rice does, not that he does a bad job I just like hers better.

I have not heard the full version of either, yet, but I have heard clips of both. From the clips I would have to say I like the way Chris sings it better, and I dont usually like songs sung by males. His version has a country feel to it and a sense about it that I can relate to.

Its a great song, sung by two great singers. They should re-record it as a duet between the two of them!

I can only get my local Christian radio station in my car and I dont listen to the radio in my house. I dont get to listen to it that much. Does anyone know where I can hear full songs on the net, Christian songs?
