(Hawthorne, CA) -- "Good vibrations" are being spread throughout the city of Hawthorne. Last Friday, the California Historical Resources Commission voted unanimously to designate the site where Beach Boys members Carl, Brian and Dennis Wilson once lived as a historical landmark. The Wilson family's five-room home at the 37-hundred block of West 119th Street was demolished in the 1980s to make room for the 105 Century Freeway. Organizers behind the designation hope to have a bronze plaque at the site stating the significance of the location. The Beach Boys -- known to some as "America's Band" -- topped the charts with such California surf rock classics as "I Get Around," "Sloop John B," "Help Me Rhonda," and many more. Dennis Wilson died in 1983 while his brother Carl passed away in 1998. Older brother Brian Wilson continues to record and tour.
