Willa's new album, Sexysexobsessive, is finished, but the release date (originally February 2004) was pushed back again and again because her record company, LAVA, is owned by 3 different companies that can't agree on legal issues, etc.

Latest news is that LAVA has dropped Willa and she's now looking for a new label. Personally, I hope LAVA won't get to keep the material.

No, her first record company was Mercury or RCA (don't remember), but they sold her contract to LAVA because they didn't like she wasn't all sugar-coated, virginal and Britney-like and they didn't want to take the responsibility of bringing out a "bad girl"-imaged singer who was hated by BSB fans and therefore wouldn't sell as much as they wanted.

Willa's first label was MCA. I heard Nick did try to shop her to Jive but they didn't want her.

^^^ I wouldn't count on it unless she gets another deal before then. Then again she's a Tampa native so who knows but I wouldn't think so since she won't have anything on the radio unless she gets a new deal.

you don't have to have a record deal to perofrm at an event. If they know who you are and they like you, you can come back. Unsigned artists do public apperances all the time.

^^^ yeah I've heard about that but I didn't know if she would get invited even though she's a native and the deejays like her since the show is put on by a radio station. But cool for her if she does.

She's done Guavaween in the past and not had anything "out" really @ the time, it's just a local celebration with all kindsa special guests. Willa practically runs this town, after me ofcourse.

yeah toast was out then but it wasn't mainstream top 40 radio, mostly her fans and clubbers knew about it

^^^ I think it was getting a lot of play in FL since she's buddies with the deejays but I'm still not sure her being buddies with them will be enough to get her onstage on Guavaween this year but we'll see.
