Brian Wilson Reveals Official Smile Tracklist, Brings Tour to North America This Fall
(We've actually been waiting for this since before we were born)

Eric Marth reports:
Brian Wilson has been making a lot of Beach Boys fans very happy lately. After digging through reels and reels of tapes containing the myriad pieces of his lost masterpiece, Smile, Wilson hit the road this spring and summer to perform the album in its entirety. Later, Wilson revealed plans to officially release the album this fall via Nonesuch Records, but retracted the comment shortly thereafter to state that the record would instead be released in a new, re-recorded form-- not spliced together from the original, frequently bootlegged 1967 master tapes. The official release date is now September 28th, and the tracklist, to our great pleasure, has now been announced:

1. Our Prayer / Gee
2. Heroes and Villains
3. Roll Plymouth Rock
4. Barnyard
5. Old Master Painter / You Are My Sunshine
6. Cabin Essence
7. Wonderful
8. Song for Children
9. Child Is Father of the Man
10. Surf's Up
11. I'm In Great Shape / I Wanna Be Around / Workshop
12. Vega-Tables
13. On a Holiday
14. Wind Chimes
15. Mrs. O'Leary's Cow
16. In Blue Hawaii
17. Good Vibrations

Until now, only those damn Europeans have been graced with the reportedly amazing live show that is Smile. But, as they say, all good things whatever whatever. And so we're happy to announce that, according to Wilson's official website, the man will be taking Smile all across this United States starting at the end of August, with the help of longtime backing band The Wondermints. And what city screams "monumental tour kick-off!" better than Minneapolis? Nowhere, that's where! Hanging down from my window, those are my datechimes:

Oooh the Ann Arbor theatre is way cool.

But I'd rather see Paul McCartney.

The closest I'd get is seeing him in LA, where I know the concert will be sold out in 2.2 seconds.

I'll see him at least twice, maybe I'll go to Boston or D.C. as well.

I leave right after he's here. :p

I have a bootleg of one of the "reconstructed" Smiles... It will be quite interesting to compare the two, as well as the new versions of the songs for this Smile to the versions of those songs which have been relieased; Which is almost half the album.

I wonder if they will resurrect the old album cover of the storefront for this album...

This is what amazon.com has:

I'd be interested in hearing one of these bootlegs before I hear the new version.

Guess not then. I was about to go to Amazon to check. :p

The boot I have is two CDs and bits of it are either like demos of the songs that have come out, bits and pieces of production tapes and such. Some parts are like the alternate tracks that were made available in th 90's two-fer albums.

btw, brianwilson.com opens to what I guess is the new version of "Good Vibrations" and has a press release and will soon have other tracks available.

What's wrong with ebay?

I've had problems with ebay. Maybe it's just my luck, but it seems as if everytime I buy something from there, I either don't receive it, or it comes damaged. This has happened to me like four times.

Huh, that sucks. Do you look at the seller's ratings first?

I ordered a book a bit ago and it still hasnt come. I even ordered a video game after the book and that came first. What's up with that?

Yeah, I only do business with people who had good ratings. Ebay's political too. When I would give these people bad ratings, they would email me with a bitchy email and give me bad ratings for no reason. lol

lol, nice.

What if you just don't rate people? Do they care?

My only bad experience with ebay was when I won an auction and afterwards the seller told me they wanted cash only mailed to Singapore. Neither of uf gave any positive or negative feedback and that was that.
