Here are more thoughts on Britney covering "My Prerogative" from 08.19

Britney will do justice to "My Prerogative" (see "Britney Covers Bobby Brown's 'My Prerogative' For Forthcoming LP"). She will bring her own edge to the song, make it more 2004, and come away with another hit. I believe that once it is out, "My Prerogative" won't be known as just Bobby Brown's song anymore; it will also be hers (see "Britney Makes Party-Crashing Her Prerogative In Next Video"). I think she's going to do an awesome job.

Someone make her stop! It's very rare to give new life to a classic song. Britney already destroyed "I Love Rock & Roll" and "Satisfaction." Please, Britney; I'm begging you — don't do it! It's not your prerogative! If you really want to sing songs we all know and love, get yourself to a karaoke bar and do it to your heart's content.

Give Britney a chance — and some credit as an artist for once. She is one of the most deserving artists to do this remake considering all that she has been through and the decisions she has made in her life. Go on, Brit. Now it's your prerogative.

I like the idea of reviving an old song that expresses how teenagers feel sometimes, and presenting it with a new and modern sound. Now that Britney Spears is going through media attacks and her own rebellion, this is a way that she can defend herself. Go on, Brit!

I love Britney, but remaking this song isn't a good move. First of all, that song goes hand in hand with Bobby Brown. Britney already has media drama — why link herself with someone who is doing even worse in that regard? Secondly, her previous remakes have been less than mediocre, not at all worth releasing. Come on, Britney, you have tons of B-sides that could top the charts without the media mess.

I think it's cool that Britney is covering a song that is much different from what she would usually sing. She is challenging herself and proving that she can do any genre of music. I wish she would have chosen an original song to be the album's first song, but it is interesting that she is going old-school. I can't wait to hear it!

Britney is about to crush folk with her remake of Bobby Brown's "My Prerogative." Restless self-happiness is the message of the song, so Britney, handle your business and stay on top. Keep the hate coming. It just fuels the fire.

I can't wait for Britney's remake of "My Prerogative." That is one of my favorite songs. I call it my theme song. In some ways I can relate to Britney because I am so independent and I always have haters talking about me. Why don't they just let me live? People always have to be in my business, just like they are in Brit's business all the time. Represent all of us strong women well, Britney.
