Carlos & Deborah Santana's Milagro Foundation Benefit Fashion Show and Silent Auction Charity Event for the Violence Intervention Program Is Announced for August 31st at the Rooftop at the Hyatt in West Hollywood

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Author Deborah Santana will host her and her husband's, Carlos Santana, Milagro Foundation Charity Event featuring a Celebrity Auction and Fashion Show featuring "Carlos by Carlos Santana" Footwear to benefit The Violence Intervention Program (http://www.violenceinterventionprogram.org/vip) on Tuesday, August 31, 2004 beginning at 7 pm at the Rooftop at The Hyatt, 8401 Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood. Guests are being asked to bring stuffed animals in lieu of paying for a ticket.
The Violence Intervention Program in Los Angeles treats the effects of all types of abuse while also emphasizing community-based prevention to end the cycle of family violence. To fulfill its mission of "intervening to protect and treat all victims of violence" the program continues to rely on private funds to support direct services such as housing, transportation, English as a Second Language classes, mentoring and tutoring. The VIP assists over 5,000 families a year and seeks to expand services aimed at children in the foster care system and ensuring their safe return to their own neighborhoods and schools.
Other Hosts of the event will include Carolina Bacardi, Kerri Kasem, Michael DeLorenzo, Ty Keck, Patricia DeLeon, Marisa Ramirez, Martha Davis & The Motels, and Willa Ford. The event is being produced by Suzanne Phillips of Suzanne Events.
Milagro means "miracle." In October 1998, Deborah and Carlos Santana started the Milagro Foundation, to fulfill their dream of providing access to better health and equal education for all children. The Milagro Foundation has actively supported children in 28 states and 21 countries by granting more than $1.5 million dollars to 215 children's agencies.
