On-line game censorship

I like playing word games online. I mostly play Word Whomp on AOL. However some of the words that they don't allow make me wonder.

The obvious words, f-, sh- and such are not around. Fine, I'm cool with that. Then there's "slut," which I can kind of understand.

Then come some words which just makes me think AOL is over-sensitive. For instance "porn." What's wrong with that word? Also "rape." It has the obvious connotations as an act, but it's a "normal" word. It also doesn't take into account the meaning of" to take all the value of" besides the sexual assault aspect.

There are others which I can't remember right now... I seem to remember t*t" being allowed for once, which made no sense, as that is an FCC no-no.

There's this screen name on aol that you can i.m. and get info on weather, horoscopes, news, movie times, just about anything. It will also tell you the definition of a word if you type "dictionary" in front of it.

So I thought I'd try it out after I read this conversation:

yet if I type in "what is pr0n?" it all gives me these sexually oriented type sites with NO explicit page warning :o LOL

They are mortal enemies, yes.

A few years ago I didn't like them but I respected them as one of the old teams. The rivalry was in a lull. Then last year Pedro threw a 74-year-old to the ground after the Sox picked one fight, then the Sox picked another fight this year, and now I just hope only the worst for the team.
