View Full Version : Maybe someone can explain this to me

Okay, I know there is probably a better explination but it just seems really weird to me that all of a sudden Britney is having such a backlash toward the people who helped her. I mean her manager was the one who flew her to NY with his own $ to help her get signed, and she did. He helped her get her career off the ground and become a huge success...and she is upset because he put her on magazine covers...I mean isn't that how you become a success? I mean people see you and hear your music and then buy your albums, concert tickets, and all your other merchandise. I mean I know they said they parted on mutual terms but her letter sounded like she was a bit bitter toward him.

^^^ I don't think anyone can really explain any of the things Britney's done lately.

True...but I mean does anyone else find this not to make sense? or is it just me?

She's gone crazy..

If you started this thread to call Britney "crazy" then why didn't you state it in your first post? Seriously people Britney probably felt held back. I mean she probably wanted to write more and they probably didn't let her. That's what happens to mostly new artists who want to take control. She was just saying she wanted space and free time and they weren't giving it to her.

Britney could have changed things long ago..

I personally think things just came to a head for her. She's been living this life for a long time, and just needs a break. I'm still wondering if her contract with Jive is up. It would be easier to dump the manager and take a break at the same time.

I didn't start the thread to say she was crazy, I was just saying that it didn't make since to me that she complain about what it took for her to be where she is today. I mean if it wouldn't have happened she wouldn't have the life she is so happy about now. And she wanted to be successful so she was put on covers and worked hard and she is. So why complain about it? I think it was P.Diddy who said he would never complain about being famous because you take the good with the bad.

I know what you mean. She's in this state right now where she doesn't care about what she looks like, doesn't care about what the fans think, doesn't give a damn about the media
(this one I'm proud of thogh). If she wants to complain about how Larry put her on magazines, she can go ahead and do that. But Britney herself has done some very stupid things that only SHE is responsible for, which contributed to the not so positive image she's had over the years.

I have really mixed feelings about her right now. I used to be a big fan but I don't know what to say about this year...I wanna be supportive but it's impossible to understand her.

I think Britney is just really tired of the music industry. She wants to settle down and have a normal life. Can you blame her? But i dont think what shes doing is entirely right. To me it seems like she doesnt even care about her fans anymore :(. but thats just my opinion

Considering that her fans are the ones who pay her salary. This is why she can take time off because she has all the money that all her fans gave her.

^ But that goes with every artist. Christina took 2 years off don't you think she spent that money that the fans gave her? Of course. Backstreet boys took some time off and they have millions of $ don't you think they spent it too. I wouldn't generalize. Plus Britney is taking time writing these letters for her fans. Also this first letter was not the "Letter Of Truth" that letter is just like Lynne's corner. Now tell me if she doesn't care about her fans why is she taking the time out to do these letters and talk to us all? How many artists do that now a days? Not very many Anyway this letter is not going to be the first and the last, she's writing more of them.

First of all i never said it was wrong of her to take time off get that right. Second of all her fans are the ones complaining and they are the ones who pay her salary and if you think she is taking time off while she is putting out a greatest hits cd thats not really taken time off. If she wants to take time of so be it i don't care. Yes there are many artist who stay in touch with there fans Bon Jovi wouldn't have been around as many years as they have if not. Lets just see if Brit can do the same thing as them. I'll be surprised. Then again nothing seems to surprise me today. But then again Bon Jovi sings live. Can't say the same for Brit. I'm not knocking her but she needs to change her ways ior her days are numbered.

I am kinda with Marina on having mixed feelings about her lately. I mean I love her music and all and I think she should enjoy her new life but the way she reflects back on her old one and tries to make it sound so horrible just makes it sound like she never wanted it to begin with.

Fans don't "give" entertainers money. As fans, we purchase items, be it CDs, movie tickets, etc. It's not a gift, it's a transaction. These transactions don't obligate the artist or entertainer to anything past the item you've purchased. If Britney never sings or dances again, it's her right. Any money she has is because she earned it.

In my opinion, Britney's latest stints are going to have a negative effect on her soon to be released greatest hits album sales.

Exactly. Also people choose to buy that item we aren't forced to. :redmad:

Hmm what are you talking about? If you're reffering to "publicity stunts" then I think you've got the wrong artist. Something like a wedding is not a stunt. Something like the superbowl with Janet, and Justin is.

I too understand that she has been controled for a while now but that was her choice if she didn't want those kinds of restrictions she should have spoke up and removed herself from that positition. And the way she reflects back on her life does seem a little ungrateful, it's like come on the reason why you have all the things you enjoy today is because of that huge dollar sign over your head. I'm sure being famous sucks especially when all you get is critisim for lip singing. But she could have changed that as well. Sounds like she is bitching about the fact that she receives so much negative critisism and she is being controlled at the same time. Anyway don't complain because in the eyes of us "normal" people that just makes you look like an ungrateful bitch.
