What's it like? Fabulous.

Usually it's a gray or cold day, if not both. But it's the start of the year and the start of spring, so it's perfect. It's almost like the start of a playoff series, with the same kind of pre-game festivities and such.

I am aiming for that...but all depends on schedules and when it is, etc....sounds perfect to me:D

Dave, I read the Sox are opening the 2005 season against the Yankees in NY on April 3 or 4...does that mean it is the Yankees opening day too??

Most likely it would, yes.

What is the source though? I tend to not believe it because way more often than not, the Yanks tend to open on the reoad, against a West or Central team... And I'm not sure MLB would want this, not when the first few weeks of the season are usually crap (as the players are still warming up).

I would hope not! It can be true, but it would suck if that's the case... Playing such important games while the teams are still essentially warming up.

Yes, I know, it's the same for the Phillies. The difference is that we all KNEW we'd be talking spring training right now!

I thought today was the first day of spring....I walked my dog and dandilions were blooming and there was no need for a jacket, just short sleeves.....a few days from November in Maine :sunny: :love:

So, we are already in the midst of planning our trip to opening day....you are going to be invaded by the "James Girls" (as we were known growing up)....but the summer plans may change to include a trip to Camden Yards for the Yankees/Orioles there and maybe another trip to the Bronx sometime during the season....I :love: the Yankees :sunny:
