NEW YORK (AP) _ Look for a spot of blue amongst the floats at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. It's the Blue Meanie from The Beatles' "Yellow Submarine.'' He'll be marching in the parade to publicize what he calls "his'' book: a picture book of "Yellow Submarine.'' He's coming over from England on the Q-E-2, which he asked to be renamed "The Blue Queenie'' in his honor, but the cruise operator refused.

NBC made me sick yesterday. I never truly realized how commercial the parade has become. But the things that really did it to me are that 1) The showed the Blue Meanie for three seconds behind the Marx Brothers (without a mention for his Blueness) and 2) Their preview of the upcoming Good Vibrations musical.

I can't blame NBC for the latter, but I still wasn't impressed. I'll still go see the musical, and make my "official" opinion then, but it didn't look good. Well, the non-singing blonde looked verrrrry good, but that won't enough to save this massacre of the Beach Boys music.

I didn't see him. I think he was only in the Cornell version. Or at least he wasn't the lead guy. I hope he's not in it when I see it... I will see it no matter how bad it is. John's in too.

They show the Marx Bros. balloon-head guys for like five seconds and in the background you see his Meaness walking about.
