Local music fans say 'Happy Birthday'

On Dec. 18, pop star Christina Aguilera celebrated her 20th birthday with the help of some fans in her hometown of Wexford.

"Basically everyone wanted to do something for Christina's birthday," says one local fan.

"Some are sending her birthday gifts and others are sending Happy Birthday cards and e-mails."

But this fan has offered a birthday greeting in a big way. He has pasted up a billboard along Route 19 in Wexford, wishing the singer a happy birthday from Christina's fans at LiveDaily.com and worldwide.

"Some of the LiveDaily fans also posted Happy Birthday greetings for Christina on her message board," he says.

"We thought a billboard was a cool idea, so we worked out the details and I contacted the billboard company."

"The entire billboard project is fan-driven," says Richard Tafoya, editor/producer of Live Daily.com, an online entertainment bulletin board, headquartered in Pasadena, Calif.

The web site sprang from ticketmaster.com as an at-tempt to better inform concert-goers about cancellations and the latest in concert news.

"We've got a very active Christina Aguilera fan community that populates our message boards," says Tafoya.

"The quality of our discussion forum has won (LiveDaily.com the) endorsement as the semi-official Christina Aguilera message board linked from her official site."

"Along with that honor, Christina's mother, Shelly Kearns, is a regular contributor on our board," says Tafoya.

"We've actually set up a separate, dedicated forum for fans to discuss Christina matters with Shelly."

I went on and on about Nik, mostly about the little black hoochie cocktail dress she wore to the Mod Lounge holiday party. ;) Guess they didn't think it had anything to do with Christina.
