The legendary Led Zeppelin song "Stairway to Heaven" has been named the Best Pop Song of All Time in a recent British Virgin Radio poll. The tune, which over the years has been both praised and reviled, has proven its staying power -- at least among UK rock fans. It leads the pack of a 1970s-and-'80s-heavy song list. Surprisingly, no Beatles tune is in the top ten -- "Let It Be" is the Fab Four's first entry, falling in at number eleven. But John Lennon's solo hit "Imagine" captures the number six spot, followed by Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody." The Eagles' "Hotel California" ranks at number nine. Van Morrison, David Bowie, and Pink Floyd all made the top 20. Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl" is at number 12, while Bowie's "Space Oddity" is the number 14 song. Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall" rounds out the survey.

1. Led Zeppelin, "Stairway to Heaven" -- good, definitely not #1
2. U2, "One" -- one of my favorite songs of all time.
3. Guns N' Roses, "Sweet Child O' Mine" -- wtf??
4. R.E.M., "Everybody Hurts" -- wtf part two?!?!
5. Robbie Williams, "Angels" -- another favorite
6. John Lennon, "Imagine" -- I can't believe this is under the songs above..
7. Queen, "Bohemian Rhapsody" -- favorite
8. Verve, "Bitter Sweet Symphony" -- favorite
9. Eagles, "Hotel California" -- blah.
10. Coldplay, "Trouble" -- #10, wow. Another favorite, but I don't think it belongs on this list, especially above songs like Let it Be and Hey Jude.

I hate U2, I can't believe any of their crap would be above the Beatles.

I used to feel the same way, and for some reason their stuff has really grown on me. I don't like their new song and I haven't listened to any of their new album, though.

I like some of their (U2) older songs, but the new stuff doesn't really move me in any special way..
