Will "It's Like that" become a #1?

It really is too soon to say because the song hasn't even been officially added to radio yet...and other factors could harm its chances.... but right now, I think it's a very reachable goal. She just needs a hot ass video and some killer promo.

Id so love if it went #1. Only problem is you can never tell til it actually gets there. Look at DCs two singles, Alicias If I Aint Got U, Nelly & Tim mcgraw - all these songs were expected to be easy #1s but none made it - its strange alot of billboard no1s Ive never even heard much cos its so specific to hiphop stations. :throwup:
They arent really fair with that anymore. Like the Snoop song Ive only heard once. Also Ciara Goodies and that Mario song I can honestly say Ive NEVER heard either of them! Which is weird, I want to hear them so I can see if I like them but seriously Ive never heard them. :eek:

Yeah, it is hard to do, I mean I´d want it to, but being real, maybe it won't but at least I hope ILT will make it into the Top 10, perhaps the album will go to 1 now,but who knows, Billboard Charts seem to prefer only Hip-Hop.

You're right, it's not easy at all... but from the way things have been going now, it's obvious to me that this song is very appealing to people. It's really catchy and that's why it's received so much airplay before it's official release bc do you honestly think all of these stations would be supporting Mariah unless the ish was hot hot hot? That makes me wonder why it wouldn't have that same affect on the broader audience once it does go for adds. ILT achieved 30 million impressions in two weeks, and while that may not seem like much for other artists, it's a major turning point for Mariah. If this song keeps its pace or speeds up, within the next 3 or 4 weeks (around time of album debut), I don't see why it couldn't have 70-80 million impressions.

I think this song has the potential to do well on the airplay charts alone, but if she releases a single...it would help propel the song even more (as Mariah is a great seller :]) on the Hot 100. I know it seems unimaginable now because the current number 1 has over 200 million impressions. :eek: but I heard that every 1,000 singles sold = 1 million impressions...so every little bit helps.

The only real problem here is that this is all case sensative. One thing not being up to par could ruin the success of the whole thing. So I hope for the first time in years, Mariah and the label make smart and careful decisions. Also, right now I only see Usher and 50 as real threats.

Well this year a lot of good singers are releasing albums, like Shakira and christina besides 50 cent, and about singles, 50 cent is strong, Jennifer Lopez (Whether we like it or not), is doing an impact on the charts too. So is gonna be a good year in music, I hope mariah gets a nice piece of that cake¡
