I like birds....;) I have bird feeders all over my yard just so I can watch and listen to the birds, why not enjoy them at Yankee Stadium both on the field and up in my seats:D

I am looking into places to stay that is convenient to both places....any area come to mind? I would like to try and see NYC sights if possible, but not sure yet what else is in the plans....I am lucky I talked the hubby into this trip (actually, I said "can we?" and he said "sure")

Didn't we go through this last time? ;)
Well, convenient to both places... I would say Tarrytown, which I thing I suggested last time, or New Rochelle. Both are in lower Westchester, Tarrytown west and New Rochelle is east. New Rochelle is pretty close to Rye. and both have commuter rail stations.
For that matter, Rye itself may be a possiblity.
All three towns should be about 40 minutes by train from the city. I live on the same rail line as Tarrytown, and they run pretty much 5A-1A.

HUH?
I am thinking about the Saw Mill River Motel, it has some very decent reviews and the place I stayed last time has nearly doubled in price, not worth it! I always thought Holiday Inns and some of the bigger names were sure things, but not so with some of the reviews I have read on the ones in the area...some are actually scary :blueeek:

Just thinking of the traditional MTM characters.
If the SMRM is the place I'm thinking of, I wouldn't recommend it. Where is it?

Yeah, I think that's the one. I may be confusing it with someplace, but I remember it as a seedy place right off the parkway.

I had the wrong info on the place I stayed last time...the rates did go up, but not that much, so I booked it again. I think that is my safest bet, knowing where places are nearby and knowing the hotel;)
I will be in CT on the 2nd...the guys are heading to the casino one of those days and we will probably go to the Navigators game on the 4th if my sister has anything to say about it;)
So, I guess I will see you in July:D

Dave, seeings you know the stadium so well...explain something to me....you know where I was sitting last time....that is tier box (according to TM)... what is the section in front of those, down by the front rail?? When you look on the seating chart in the little boxes it says the sections in that box, like 618/620 in the same box...now, are they 2 sections side by side or one behind the other?? That confused me before and still does:tongue:

The box-sections are two boxes per section, that is correct. The boxes are down from the main walkway, tier reserved are above it. Remember (you may not because you had aisle seats) how in the middle of your row their was a pair of seats with a higher armrest than between most pairs of seats? That was to signify the seperation of the two boxes. I can't explain the logic for seperating the box areas like that, but maybe they do it just to make these section smaller and therefore more private in a way. If you look at the stadium map, the lower number of the pair is the box closer to the infield.
I don't know if the section down by the rail is anything special. They are in the same box number as the seats behind them. There is a such thing as Champions League seats or something these days, but I think that's more connected to proximity to the infield and not how high up you are. These seats I think offer waiter service and have cup holders. Nothing truly special, but renaming them gives George a reason to charge more money for them.
See you in July! :D

yeah, last year I was in the MVP tier box which meant it was from 3rd to 1st base...anything beyond that is just tier box....maybe the front section is tier box season seats, if such a thing exists:tongue:
thanks:)

No, the seasons can be any part of a box.

actually, the mystery is solved...there are double rows in each box up there, so F seems far back because instead of being 6 rows back it is 11 and 12 rows....if you have seat D1 you are in the first row of D, if you have seat D20, you are in the second row of D.

Oh, I didn't know you were refering to rows back. I could have told you boxes are done in two row incriments.
