LOS ANGELES -- Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter was arrested over the weekend for allegedly driving drunk in downtown Huntington Beach.

Carter was behind the wheel of a vehicle observed making an unspecified traffic violation when police officers stopped him.

Carter was arrested and booked for investigation of drunken driving and his vehicle was impounded.

It isn't known how long Carter was in jail.

His spokeswoman, Juliette Harris, said Carter deeply "regrets" the situation. She said he was on a doctor-prescribed medication and was unaware of its interaction possibilities.

The Backstreet Boys' include "I Want It That Way," "Shape of My Heart" and "Show Me the Way of Being Lonely." The group recently announced they were embarking on a 13-city concert tour starting March 21 in New York.

According to his publicist, he is on prescripted medication. I guess they mean to say that the mix of medication and alcohol is what got him that way. he was arrested under DUI charges which means that only alcohol was found on his body. That's the official police statement.

Aaron got cited for carrying a machete in his car - he's a minor (just like Angel) so his records are sealed. I don't think Leslie has been arrested though - she apparently has all the sense in the family.

Patti hun, calm down. i don't think nobody was making fun on the carter family's problems but they are real and yes really sad but unless the mods tell us otherwise, people are going to talk about it no matter what.

wow settle it down....geeze. It's not really funny but it is COMMON sense not to mix alcohol with medicine, and he has no excuse inless he doesn't know how to read, which I'm sure he does. I don't think it's funny, I love Nick to pieces, but I know he's better than this and whatever everyone makes mistakes, it's not a big deal.

In later interviews aaron has said that Nick would never do that (and those interviews were on TV). There's no more proof about that than a printed article so we don't know if he actually did say that anthought I don't think it's true, but we better leave it at that.

i cant believe someone brought the paris things up. it has been comfirmed on tv by aaron it didnt happen, and nick wouldnt do something like that. That stupid interview that said he did had no proof of it even exsisting. There was no print out article or clip of him saying it. its over and done with drop it <33

Articles get their info like this from OTHER articles, whether they're accurate or not and that quote wasn't, as it turned out. Kinda like when Good Day Live showed a pic of Aaron's ex g/f, which was wrong... The media gets info. from other media sources. They don't know anything about Aaron, or what's true or not, and they probably don't care. So don't worry about it.
