So I gave in to all the things I've heard about the book. LOL I usually don't like fiction books, I stick to nonfiction books about religion & philosophy and new age stuff. But I was at Barnes & Nobel, and there was this Divinci Code SHRINE. I couldn't help it, I bought the book 3 days ago. I'm on chapter 8 & I CANNOT put this freakin' book down! hehe. It's so good! :p I'm such a dork for waiting this long, lol. :o

I liked it - if you're not familiar with the code and the theological debate about it, it will certainly open your eyes.

By the way, not everything in the book is historical fact despite the author's disclaimer. But the fact it's sold so well, indicates that there may be a grain of truth somewhere. :)

Yes, I am privvy to the whole theoretical aspect of the book. By the way, I finished the novel, & I am very satisfied with the book.

McKellen set for Da Vinci Code film

Sir Ian McKellen is set to star in the Hollywood adaptation of the Da Vinci Code.

The actor will appear opposite Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou in the movie version of Dan Brown's best-selling book.

McKellen will play wealthy Sir Leigh Teabing, who helps Hanks's Harvard academic Robert Langdon in the search for the Holy Grail.

Fellow British actor Alfred Molina has also been signed up to play Bishop Arigarosa, according to Variety.

The film will be directed by Ron Howard, director of A Beautiful Mind and Apollo 13, and begins shooting this summer.

Dr Who star Christopher Eccleston has been tipped to land the role of an albino assassin.

McKellen's next role will be in Coronation Street - he has harboured a long-held ambition to appear in the soap.

He will play a dodgy novelist invited to meet the local reading group.

McKellen, Molina Join Da Vinci

Ian McKellen (X2) and Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2) will star in The Da Vinci Code, Ron Howard's upcoming film adaptation of the Dan Brown best-seller, Variety reported. Akiva Goldsman wrote the script, and Brian Grazer is producing with John Calley for Sony.

Molina will play zealous Bishop Arigarosa, who's keenly interested in the sleuthing activities of Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) and cryptographer Sophie Neveu (Audrey Tautou). McKellen will play Sir Teabing, a wealthy man who acts as a resource for Langdon even as he shows his own ambitions to uncover the Holy Grail. Jean Reno also stars, the trade paper reported.

The Da Vinci Code begins production in June for a May 19, 2006, release.

Nah, you should be fine. Everything is explained in the book. You'll learn a ton, trust me.

I work in book store and I could not resist buying it. Not everyone but a lot of people at work have read it. I read Angels and Demons first and I loved it. Then I got up to chapter 3 of the Da Vinci Code and school got in the way and I didn't get past it. But school ends Wednesday so I will begin reading it again. I pretty much what it is all about though cus of the people at work. :o
