I decided to watch some show on VH1 last night, the 40 greatest hard rock artists, or something like that. They talked about a band MC5, whom I had never heard of, but I liked what they showed of them. Anyone have any of their stuff? Why had I never heard of them? Kind of weird.

Ask Bekah, as she lives closest to where they got their moniker from.

Yes, or I guess I could ask Mike, since he's pretty close to Detroit as well.

I'm better than Mike how dare you ask him!?!?!?
I have no clue who they are.

I only know that one song and their name...
Nice new location... NYC beats all.

I thought you pretty much dispised MI. That it was nothing compared to your native No Cal.

I do dEspise it usually, but I also recognize that it has positive attributes and is generally better than the rest of the midwest, all of the south, and NY.
And nothing compares to No Cal.

How do you reason it is better than NY?

Because we've got great lakes. All you have is some stupid big apple. Big deal, I can go to Meijer for that.

You can have your lakes. We have the ocean and a river.

Yeah, but does the state of New York look like a hand? I think not.

Well, upstate (by the Great Lakes *cough* Bekah *cough*) we do have the Finger Lakes.
I was just referring to my great city, but if you take the whole state into account, we have fingers and lakes and everything.

You have "fingers"? Please. You do not. Just because they're called the Finger Lakes doesn't mean they look like fingers. MI actually looks like a hand and dammit that's something to be proud of.
And you don't have the great lakes. You just happen to be by what? One? Is one named after you? Do you have them all? I rest my case. Stop trying to get in our action.

Oh, that fast Detroit action. Yeah, I want a piece of that.
As I said, you can have your little lake. I'm happy in the ocean, with better chop than you'll ever have on a petty little lake.

We have five lakes, moron, and they're incredibly unique. No one else has such amazingness. You can keep your ocean - CA's got a better one.

Minnesota: Land of 10,000 Lakes.
btw, sign on for a sec?

Big deal. Are their lakes actually small seas? No, they're not.
db44
Apr 26th, 2005, 03:23 AM
Why have small seas when you can have a real ocean?
bekahbeans
Apr 26th, 2005, 03:23 AM
Because everyone has an ocean. Almost all of the frickin' earth is an ocean; you're not all that special.

Does Michigan? I think not.

No, we instead have a natural phenomenon that is uniqe to us alone - we don't share it with the rest of the E. Coast and the W. Coast and the south, oh yeah and EVERYWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD.
And besides from appearances the Great Lakes are oceans, just minus the salt water.

Sharks?

Apr 26th, 2005, 03:40 AM
Yes, and we want sharks so they can attack people occaisonally.
