Lennon's Killer Talks In Shock TV Show

John Lennon's killer is to be heard for the first time telling how he gunned down the former Beatle.

Tapes of Mark Chapman will be aired in a controversial documentary to mark the 25th anniversary of Lennon's death this year.

Journalist Jack Jones, who wrote a book on the killing, has handed over more than 40 hours of tapes to Prime Productions, who are making the documentary.

But the show is sure to anger Lennon's family and fans.

Yoko Ono today attacked a Channel 4 decision to broadcast an interview with John Lennon's killer Mark Chapman.

Yoko Ono said: "I think that it's horrible for Channel 4 to do this.

"It shows a lack of understanding of the painful memories of what happened to John's beautiful life.

"Myself, John's family and so many fans will be hurt by the showing of such a programme."

The plans have also been attacked by Beatles fan clubs across the world, many noting the irony that Chapman's motivation for the murder was to achieve celebrity for himself.
