Hold on! Who is that? That guy singing now isn’t Nelly.
It’s Aaron Carter? Yes, that guy singing between a chorus of "If you wanna go and get high wit me, smoke a L in the back of the Benzy," is that little kid brother of that Backstreet Boy.
(P.S. Hi, Aaron if you’re reading, which you might very well be. Hope you had a good time in Little Rock this last week, promoting your new work and that new pizza place.) Seems the tyke’s latest single, "Saturday Night," has two versions — an original and a remix, featuring Nelly.
Alice 107.7 FM’s music director Charlotte (no last name) says the station decided to play the Nelly version because it would be more familiar to listeners who liked the popular original.
"It’s a good way to introduce new music," she says.
Maybe.
Or maybe it’s a bad way to re-introduce old music? After all, it hasn’t even been a full five years (which, in fairness, is actually a huge percentage of Carter’s 17-year-old life) since Nelly’s original came out.
