O/T: Bad News Summerland Fans

Hey Guys!
I was on the WB's boards and I came across some sad news. Ok, first I'm so NOT IN ANY WAY a fan of Jmac, but I enjoyed Summerland. However, I just read that Summerland has NOT been renewed for a 3rd season. Apparantely, they're airing some already taped episodes to finish out this season, starting June 7th, and after those, it's gone for good. Now, this is just what I've read on here:

i know i heard about this a few days ago. im a HUGE summerland addict so im really upset. i cant understand why they canceled it. it had such high ratings and everything!

yeah i heard that on the radio!! ugh that sucks, and i think American Dreams is gone too :( but im not sure about that for exact, im sure none of you watch American Dreams but its so good and you should :p

It is recent all the networks announced their new lineups this week.

The 5 episodes that begin airing on June 7th were the 5 episodes for the summer season that they hadn't aired yet.

How do you know what kind of ratings it got?

Yeah American Dreams was cancelled awhile ago.

yeah me too thats why i was confused. cause it wasnt cancelled it was just moved to wednesdays. ill try and find more info, because it could have been cancelled i just hope not

I like the show, and not just because Jesse is in it, I like all the people in it!
It sucks it's going off air, is the season 1 still gonna come out on DVD? :( :]

I have only watched the show a few times, because of Jesse but I have to admit the show was kind of pointless and boring but yeah, kinda sucks too!

DARN IT! I was hoping against hopes that it wasn't true. That seems to be the pattern, they move a show to Wed. up against ABC's line-up (which is why I stopped watching the show) and then they cancel it (i.e. Living With Fran on a "special night" this past week). As far as Summerland on DVD, it's possible. Wonderfalls only aired 3 or 4 episodes and they put those as well as 8 unaired episodes on DVD. BTW, if anyone finds someone selling this box set cheap, let me know. ;)

American Dreams was canceled shortly after they moved it to Wendsday.

I haven't heard anything about any DVD'S but if they had already announced a release date for one in sure they will still release it.

You will still be able to see Will Estes because he is on a new show on FOX this fall.

That Living With Fran show hasnt been canceled and it aired this week on Wendsday to fill in the half hour left after the season finale of Smallville.

I know Fran's not cancelled-yet. I give it a month tops. They use that filler technique to test the waters and try to get new/more fans. Otherwise, they would show a rerun of one of their hit shows like Reba. Some shows they'll bounce around to different days to see what fits. If it fits nowhere, it's cut.

how come they cancelled summerland, it was a huge hit??? are they crazy. and i dont understand why they cancelled American Dreams it was so amazing, it was a perfect representation of vietnam. well that suckksss. thank god i will still be able to see Will Estes, hes so hott!love that boy.

Living With Fran is a hit, it was picked up for the fall season. It is going to air on Fridays at 9:30 p.m.

Summerland and American Dreams were not huge hits this season that is why they got cancelled.

its not cancelled atleast all i heard was that there wasnt going to be a third season...and right now the show is on hiatus....because of jesse touring and stuff...thats wat i read but i dont remember where...xOx <33

The WB did NOT renew the show. It's been cancelled. The episodes airing June 7th are the last of the ones they already taped.

They have shows like The Contender (that one with dads boxing, i think) and Super nanny, plus all the reality shows ( i like most, but some are stupid), but yet they cancel a gr8 show (Summerland). It's an awesome drama, keeps you wanting more. I mean come on, seriously...before we know it, there won't be any actors/actresses b/c everything will be "reality". If they cancel The OC, then I'll be really ticked!

I actually never thought Summerland would make it. It's too much like the OC. It was good while it lasted though.

If there's not going to be a third season, it's because they cancelled it. The episodes airing in June are left over from this season....which started while Everwood was on hiatus for those six long, long weeks.

The fresh Summerland episodes starting on June 7 are the last 5 episodes of season 2.

All the networks last week had to announce the new line ups for the fall and Summerland was not on it, it was offically cancelled.

The Contender and Super Nanny also are done at the end of this season.

The O.C and 7th Heaven won't get cancelled because they have really good ratings for their network.

Summerland getting cancelled is the WB's fault they should have started season 2 on June 7th like they did for season 1 then it would have continued having good ratings.
