Well, it's the weekend of the play-offs. Today it was the Coca-Cola League 2 play off (division 3) between Southend and Lincoln. I went to town to savour the atmosphere and buy a programme as usual and it seemed that the Lincoln fans vastly outnumbered the Southend fans. It was quite an enjoyable game with it going to extra time and Southend getting 2 goals to clinch promotion to Coca-Cola League 1. Tomorrow it is the Coca-Cola League 1 play-off between Sheffield Wednesday and Hartlepool. :)

Today town was absolutely crazy! Sheffield Wednesday brought 40,000 supporters with them alone! Hartlepool brought just under 20,000 fans which is a fifth of their population! The atmosphere was buzzing. It took me and my mum a while to get out of town as there were so many people! The game was very dramatic with Sheffield Wednesday scoring just before half time. Then, just after half time Hartlepool equalised and scored a second a bit later on. Then, towards the end of the 90 minutes a controversial penalty was given to Sheffield Wednesday and a Hartlepool player was sent off. Sheffield Wednesday equalised and for the second day in a row the match went into extra time. Hartlepool, severly depleted with just 10 men, tried hard but couldn't keep Sheffield Wednesday at bay with them scoring at the beginning of the added half hour and at the end of it to win 4-2. I enjoyed watching the match and I wish Sheffield Wednesday the best of luck next season in the Championship after 10 years in the doldrums. I also wish Hartlepool luck and I hope they get promoted next season. :)

The Saints finished in last, right? Automatic relagation. :( I was a fan of Southampton from when they had van Gobbels.

Yeah, they went down. It was an awesome last day of the Premiership though.
