LONDON (AP) _ Of all the great songs to come out of Britain, a listener's poll has decided "Wonderwall'' by Oasis is the best. Listeners to Britain's Virgin Radio have voted that song as their all-time favorite British hit. It beats out Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody'' in second and Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven'' in third. The Beatles check in at fourth with "Let It Be'' and John Lennon's "Imagine'' is fifth.
Stairway, maybe... Wonderwall and Bohemian Rhapsody? *GAH!* The latter I can see a case for maybe, had it not landed on Wayne's World.

It boggles the mind. I guess it just more proof that if you continually say that you are the bigger than the Beatles, it will become so in the eyes of the sheep. I'm just suprised that the Jedi mind trick hasn't worn off yet.
I wanted to give them a chance, so I picked up one of their DVD's. Needless to say I haven't watched the damn thing since I bought it.

I still try and remember the last time I heard Wonderwall on radio... Imagine I heard last week. :-\

I know, I don't get it. Wonderwall is ancient history here, in the UK it's a different story. Maybe their Oasis pick has something to do with this new Oasis revival. They have a new album out now, due in stores today. Hmm.. Wonder if Dave's gonna buy it?

I need new coasters. :p
The funny thing is, and although I don't spend much time in England, I don't hear it on the radio there, and I do listen to the radio there when I'm in Europe.

Well I would ask Carla what the Oasis phenomenon is all about, but she hasn't been around in ages. She's been to their concerts and the whole nine. Then there's Katie - both of them are huge Oasis fans. Maybe Katie will clue us in. I just hope their new CD is quickly relegated to the bargain bin, so I too can have a coaster.

You're right about one thing though: Things are different in the U.K.
Have you seen what's on the top of the charts right now? A Ringtone! Some guy making moped sounds to the tune of Axel F.

Crazy Frog Axel F (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/ArticleNews/TPStory/LAC/20050531/RTICKTONE31/TPBusiness/International) eh? This is the first time I've heard about this, I've never really payed much attention to the charts, but this is funny.
I can't believe that track beat Coldplay for the #1 spot, not to mention outselling their new single by a four to one margin.
There is a bright side. The track knocked the Oasis tune "Lyla" out of the #1 hit position.
Needless to say, I'm in no rush to hear this song.

You fool. Bohemian Rhapsody is a genius song. GENIUS I SAY!!!
Wonderwall, on the other hand, is an unintelligent copy-cat song. Stupid band.
