Please take a couple of minutes and read this intro as well as the information about the ticket onsales. It would mean a lot to me.
My brother Anthony (senior in high school) and I (just graduated college) have put together this fundraising show entirely from scratch, including having to overcome many obstacles such as venue availability, obtaining funds to help cover the costs of renting the theater, and a myriad of other problems including insurance issues.
We believe strongly in this cause, and we think that everyone who attends this will truly be impressed by David and enjoy the show, otherwise we wouldn't have put in all our hard work and time.
It will mean a lot to Mr. Sancious, a lot to SPARKS International, a lot to us, and a lot to the children of Afghanistan who may attend the SPARKS Academy someday in the future, to look out at the seats on July 2 and see a full house. Please join us for the evening–you'll be happy that you did!!

I am happy to announce that tickets will go onsale this Monday for the concert, which will take place on Saturday July 2nd at 7:30 PM, in the intimate new Two River Theatre in Red Bank, NJ (where Bruce filmed VH1 Storytellers)! The theater is just a short walk from the New Jersey Transit train/bus station in Red Bank and is easily accessible from New York City.
---The concert will make for an exceptional 4th of July Weekend at the Shore, with Southside Johnny and Boccigalupe playing on Sunday night at the Stone Pony, and our own Stan G. offering a tour of Freehold and Asbury Sunday afternoon! So make a full Jersey Weekend out of it!---
Tickets are only $25 each(!) and as my previous post stated, every dollar of profit is going to the SPARKS International charity, a student-run organization based at Princeton University ( www.sharethespark.org (http://www.sharethespark.org) )

While most Bruce fans should know the name David Sancious (http://www.davidsancious.com/), just in case you aren't familiar with him, go put on New York City Serenade and you'll see why you should be at this concert. Many of the beautiful piano parts you hear on "Greetings "and "Wild & Innocent" were written by David, who also arranged the strings for songs such as NYC Serenade.
Sancious was the original keyboard player of the E Street Band and was a major part of the early Asbury music scene, playing the legendary late-night jams at the Upstage Club and with bands like Glory Road (featuring Bill Chinnock and several soon-to-be members of the E Street Band), The Sundance Blues Band with Southside Johnny and Little Steven, Dr. Zoom and the Sonic Boom, and The Bruce Springsteen Band.
He is, of course, also responsible for the name of the band, which they took from the name of the street he lived on in Belmar.
This particular fundraiser will be benefitting the SPARKS Academy in Kabul, Afghanistan, which was opened in November 2003 with praise from Afghan President Hamid Karzai. It is the first independent co-educational school of excellence (admission is based solely on merit) in the country and provides wonderful and unique opportunities for the children of the region.
Sancious' playing has appeared on over 100 albums, and he has toured and recorded with some of the biggest names in all of music including Eric Clapton, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Carlos Santana, and many more. For one night only, he will return to the Jersey Shore for a very special benefit show.
This is definitely an event you won't want to miss!
