Thanks for "letting the cat out of the bag"! I've already submitted bids on three items (and am watching a couple others) 2 days ago. Looks like I might have to dig a little deeper into my pockets! Seriously, if any of their past couple of auctions are a good indication, prices usually soar in the last few days. Time will tell. Good Luck to all!

Nice stuff!
Looks like he's a fan of Ball Four. The book that got Jim Bouton banned from The Stadium for about 30 years. Also, that signed Come Together poster was for sale at the show at the bargain of a century price of $100(I think), first time I saw it offered on the secondary market.

Great link and auction - found the poster from the time he played my undergrad institution before I was there - on the Born to Run tour. The original mockups for the Born to Run album cover are cool and the First Contract of the Castilles. The bottom item has to be American Express receipt and the 'To do" list where the last entry in his scrawl is "Guitar...grrrrrrrrr"

Perhaps he meant "Guitar Grrrl" and this was the first near-use of the Riot Grrrrl phrase!

according to another website some of that stuff may be fake and they warn to be careful.

Thanks to a tip in the latest Backstreets mag, if you log on to the website there's a place on there where you can request a free catalog of the current auction items (Beatles, Bruce, Dead, etc.). I just got mine in the mail the other day and it's quite thick on nice, heavy stock paper. Highly recommended...

The alternate album cover for Darkness is really cool. So is one of the promo posters for that tour.

Tell me...why would anyone buy an American Express receipt signed by Bruce? I don't get that.

I am guessing you have the same one I do which is a reproduction. If you have an original-book your trip and enjoy the show!

The yearbook signing looks odd. The handwriting seems too neat.

Doh!
Actually...I have no idea...someone I know with an impressive collection of Bruce "stuff" gave it to me years ago...it's stored away somewhere in one of these boxes.......................
Guess it's back to plan "A"...Balto. to Buffalo...$60 roundtrip! :D

I have the Ledge poster and it shocked me when I went to the Rock and Roll museum and it was there - a little else. Worth $700.00 but to me, nearly as priceless as the Darkness backstage pass I never used. Just stuck in a corner on the 2nd floor. Jimi Hendrix has his own theater - which is numbingly cool by the way - awesome. But Bruce? Let's not ever forget that in the '70's, he single handledly (with the band) resuscitated Rock and Roll from the narcolepsy of the Bee Gees, etc. All Hail Bruce! :hat:

I didn't know Maureen Orth wrote the infamous 1975 Newsweek piece. I never liked that article.

Yes they are legit. Of course there's always a possibility that any 1 item is a fake, but overall they are a very ruputable store and auction site. Just do a google search and youll find them in various articles in national papers and magazines. They routinely come to a well known annual convention of collectables in Atlantic City that I went to this past winter called Atlantique City. Just remember however that many of these items will eventually go for a whole lot more in the end (plus they add on an extra 17% "Buyer's Premium" at the end just like the other Auction Houses). Bidding increments must go up by 10% at a time so near the high end it gets to be pretty expensive. Worse yet, if you don't get in before 10:00 p.m. on closing night, you're prohibited from placing any bids at all (bidding continues past 10:00 until no more bids are received on all items for 10 minutes: typically this goes on until early the next morning). Therefore it pays to bid early so "at least you're in the game". I've been on the sideline the past couple of auctions, but this year looks different. I'm in for 3 now. Considering 2 more.

Check out their past auctions and you'll see some pretty incredible stuff that sold in the past as well. Even their on-line store has some great stuff too. I bought an awesome Springsteen Capitol Theatre program from 1978 for $35.00 about six months ago and it arrived in mint condition. Now they want $75.00 for the same one.

Again, Good Luck to All!

P.S.- Here's a sample article.

Byline: Carrie Melago
Money can't buy you love _ but it can buy you an 8-foot-long yellow submarine or a handwritten note from John Lennon to Bob Dylan.
More than 300 of the world's rarest Fab Four collectibles are for sale until Dec. 9 in an Internet-only auction, from a one-of-a-kind bottle of Beatles perfume to a never heard 26-minute recording of the band singing Christmas carols.
Those who have an extra $5,000 for a toy Beatles banjo or $15,000 for a signed photo from the movie "Help" can bid at www.ItsOnlyRockNRoll.com.
The staggering assortment was consigned from Barbara Crawford, a private collector in Atlanta who had the foresight to save cans of Beatles soda, Beatles talcum powder and yes, Beatles hair spray.
For $5,000, fans can purchase a handwritten note that Lennon penned to Dylan on the back of an eight-track sleeve for Lennon's first solo LP, the Plastic Ono Band.
The lighthearted letter, sent to Dylan
