View Full Version : Who is going to Milwaukee?

Tickets go on-sale Saturday. When I first saw the schedule I could not have been happier. I have a niece getting married near Milwaukee that weekend, so I thought how perfectly this is coming together, wedding on Saturday and Bruce on Sunday................then....... I find out that the wedding is actually scheduled on Sunday! Apparently they were unable to find suitable venues with availability (they have had this planned for about a year) on Saturday.......so the wedding is Sunday. Oh well............
There is still an outside chance this might work out......I have to check the schedule of the wedding activities and if they are wrapping up early enough I might try to do the double.
Does anyone know what time the US shows have been starting?

Flory, Bruce has been hitting the stage around 8:15. I conveniently scheduled a Monday meeting in Milwaukee with one of my clients in conjunction with the show on Sunday. Going to be out of town this weekend though so will not be able to get tix on ticketbastard. I told myself I am going to do the drop next show I go to and now I will get my chance.

Thanks for the info pitdweller and good luck on the drop. I should have taken the agressive approach like you and just scheduled the wedding around the concert.
Come to think of it, the drop line could be a plan for me if the schedule allows for it.

I am planning on going to Milwaukee, except I will be in Dallas Saturday morning when tickets go on sale so I will either be looking for a drop, or grovelling for an extra when the time comes.
Good luck to all ticket hunters this weekend!!

Forget it, Judge. The chances of obtaining a single ticket to a Milwaukee D&D show are slim to none.

sooooooo...the TM site for Milwaukee says Will Call ONLY??? For ALL tix??? Are they kidding?
And what's up with the stage set-up...I'm thinking Bruce isn't doing the "half-house" set-up with a runway(although if he is...I might have to go!)

Hey Janey
I just noticed that for Milwaukee TM also has listings for parking and premium Parking - i'm assuming the latter is only available to the shrimp and warm bass ale crowd???

THE BRADLEY CENTER?!? WHY IN THE WORLD IS HE PLAYING THE BRADLEY CENTER?
He picked some terrific venues on the first leg of the tour. Great sound, wonderful intimate places. Except NJ, from what I understand. Why would he start playing big venues like the Bradley Center, and closing off half the arena? The sound is going to blow. What about a place like the Riverside Theater? Is that still there? I've seen acts like the Neville Brothers and Counting Crows at the beautiful Riverside Theater. Great sound, nice old theater.
I just don't get it. Why do an intimate, solo performance if you're going to do it in a lousy arena?

Why do an intimate, solo performance if you're going to do it in a lousy arena? :scratch:I believe its still there but like The Palace in Louisville it is a little too small (2,000-2,500). The smaller theatres have been bypassed on this tour. The Fox in Detroit and St. Louis each seat closer to 4,000. The smaller venues worked for the Joad tour but not this one. I think the famous Bomb Scare show (1975) was at the Riverside......Incident could confirm this because it was his first Bruce show.
I agree with what you say about the Bradley Center (and US Bank in Cincy).....I would think they could find more appropriate mid-size venues. Sad to say but I think $$$ is talking here.

I have not been following it closely but haven't they been dropping tickets (like in past tours) a few days before shows?
Have there been tickets available to drop lines on the day of shows?
Thanks for any info.

I do not know if it is true, but when I saw Bruce on the Rising tour at the Bradley Center there was a building half torn down and someone in the GA line said it was the "Bomb Scare Theater."

I was kidding with the Judge. There have been plenty of tickets dropping for almost all of the shows.

The building you mention above use to be the Auditorium. They renovated it into the Milwaukee Theater:

They razed the Uptown back in 2001 and built a police district station and communications center there.

Uptown is gone, probably seated about 1500??? Was just an old movie theater. He played the Riverside on the Joad Tour and that place was falling apart back then.
Won't play the Milwaukee Theatre because about 200 of the best tickets go for free to the County board members.

As FFDan said that was the Auditorium. Bruce played there in 1977, second time into Milwaukee. Also across the Street from the Bradley Center in the Milwaukee Arena, Bruce played there several times also.

Incident,
You're giving me a heart attack. I got row EEE and thought it would be waaaaay in the back. Was thrilled to get tickets on the floor. Not to doubt you, but are you sure we're talking fifth row?
And speaking of the Bradley Center, where's the pre-show party? Looking forward to meeting more of you Bruce fans!

Sounds like it wasn't hard to get good seats. Not like when I tried for Cleveland and couldn't get anything but upper level right at the on-sale time.
Congrats to all!
Although I did not plan to buy, I couldn't resist dialing from my cell phone. I thought the on-sale was 11am CDT, but when I called T/M they had an automated "Bruce Springsteen option", which gave you 3 shows......and Milwaukee was not one of them?
I have lots of memories of the Auditorium and Arena, unfortunately no Bruce shows among them. Thanks for the historical updates, Paul & FF Dan. :)

Those triple letters almost threw me off plan, I also thought they were way back....and threw quite a few back in...... but finally took one in JJJ. I still need one more....now I am hoping there is a drop a few days before THE DAY~while I'm still home. !

Yeah, your fifth row. Bradley Center has always used triple letter seating for the floor. Probably explains why floor seats were available for so long, people from out-state probably kept throwing them back thinking they were row 50 or something.
