Thanks to my new friend Norma from Backstreets, I will be sitting in the Palais de Paris Omnisports tonight!! It is hotter than h*ll here - especially for a resident of the Arctic - but I could not care less!
Hope some of you are here -- looking for you, Mo -- and that I meet you tonight!

Glad you managed to get hold of some tickets, at last!!!
Wish I could have joined you - damn work, stops you enjoying yourself!!
If you can't find Mo she'll be stalking Bruce!!Don't think Tom is too keen on the idea though, he had enough in London.
Have a fantastic time.

not having been to a D & D show just yet, what exactly is the stage rush?

act of people coming forward in complete violation of concert etiquette these days.Previously common practice at many concerts, Bruce or not, when the crowd collectively decides to move closer to the stage. Perfectly allowable, it seems in Europe, but not mentioned on house rules handout as a loophole behavior during this tour stateside. Which brings up the question...balls??? has the American audience misplaced them?or were they too busy reading rules?

There was a stage rush or more of a stage walk in Cleveland during Dream Baby Dream but not of the magnatude of the European shows and not early in the show.

There was a minor stage rush just as the encores started at the Orpheum in Boston. I was able to move up to about the middle of the theater, so I could actually see Bruce clearly. Didn't need to go closer, although lots of folks did.

PS THANKS, Gee for the hot pics! I opened this thread hoping for the steamy pics, too. I do love those clips from Human Touch!

Yes...near the end of the show one doesn't run the risk of being thrown out or tossled. I find it an interesting thing that rushes are so successfully achieved in Europe, early on, and without much hassle. Fine act of the crowd to make their move.

Annie,, haven't you noticed the European fans get preferential treatment ?? Autographs ( ahem !!), late night conversations and camraderie, drinks... requests.... sheesh. Born in the USA my ass.

Caryn... yes.A friend and I were laughing about that. What else can ya do? What's that say?hmmmmmmmm. If Bruce would choice someone other than that lightweight Matt Lauer to ask questions, I'd be curious on what the answer would be. No sour grapes...looking for the reason behind it.

P.s Thanks for the other board thingy Tony...point being? Stage rushes existed for decades.

Matt Lauer, he can barely contain his boyish adoration... like Chris Farley interviewing Paul McCartney... :D I'm not sure if I think it's cute or it makes me

Dirty Annie

makes me puke. How many times is he gonna ask...how to you reconcile the fact that you represent the blue collar working and live in a mansion???? And his Edward R. Murrowesque question about Reno?snicker, snicker.

Point being, Some fans disrespect even Bruce.

maybe the USA fans dont rush the stage because they dont want to be yelled at again like he did at CAA???
Clearly he gives the overseas fans more leeway then he does at home. At home he yells STFU to his home town people and never apologizes. ;) ;) ;) <-------see the tongue !

Dirty Annie

Disrespect? thats a given and a chance at every concert and the audience should be or WAS trusted enough to be able to contain trouble makers. The stage rush, and yeah I've been a part of many particularly at outdoor events, is merely an act of being so moved or so desirous to get closer that ya take action. Few risk the chance to go forward to spit on the guy or something. I find disrespect a funny concept when I look at a 70's DVD...surrounded by fans. But that was then and this is now...pauvre pitie.

Maybe Bruce has more respect for the European audiences because they come to the show to actually listen and not talk about their jobs, family and other annoying topics. The good ole U.S. of A. still gets better setlists.

BruceNut, you've got to let that STFU @ CAA go, man! Let it go, buddy, let it go...

ok AB I`ll let it go :)

when did rushing the stage become disrespectful? Ive never heard something so stupid Tony. Thats a huge assumption to make.

I think it becomes disrespectful when a performer askes you to wait 1 more song and you can't IMO

FROM Original Post on SPL:
(If I recall well, Bruce asked the crowd NOT to rush to the stage until AFTER Matamoras Banks!
On the left of me there was a complete row (2nd row I believe) of crazy Italians, and of course, they pretend NOT to understand English, and rush to the stage BEFORE Matamoras Banks and of course, complete stagerush.)

Them Damn Italians can't take them anywhere.

Thanks JG2...I think anybody can see as Busted said that Matt is a wee bit enamored with Bruce and fans are not apt to get much out of it. But maybe thats the point.

A "wee bit" is the understatement of the year! Matt sounds like what I'm afraid I'd sound like if I ever got to actually speak to Bruce, all starstruck and stammering and any shred of intelligence flying right out the window :)
