I need youz input.
Say you know someone has a bad habit.
Their habit is bad. Very very bad.
It`s going to see the same rock star over and over again.
And this person with the bad habit asks you for help to see the same rock star more times by trying to get them tickets to more shows.
Do you help them in their quest? Thus becoming their "drug" dealer. Their enabler.
or
Do you tell them to seek out Dr Phil and get some much needed head help?

Does this friend have front row seats?
so what your saying is it matters where they would be sitting to help them sink further into the depths of addiction?

well ,according to some peeps that i know and I am currently madder than all you know what at, that person with this habit needs some help, doesn't have their priorities straight and is just a f-up.
BUT, IMHO, you should enable-because what comes around goes around baby-you know-"I get by with a little help from my friends..." and all that
p.s. thanks for the supply today ;)

female and you do not know her and unfortunately she is a relative so I am stuck with her-but she actually said that stuff to me(based on this morning's activities and well you know where I was when the tix went on sale...) , more or less, and until I read your post, I was not feeling so great, but then I read it and laughed and
well thanks once again-

It is the snake eating its tail. There is no beginning and no end - just a circle game of artist-fan-artist-fan and where one is and the other is not, there is no artist, there is no fan. As Bruce marvels at the tenacity and persistence of his fans braving weather conditions, bearing the weight of ticket prices and other costs to see him again and again and again, and isolating themselves from their lives, their familes, their jobs, he jokes "Get a life." But it is not the casual, beer swilling listener that rocks out to Born in the USA that has kept his family fed and his dreams alive these many years: it is us: The great wave of humanity that time and again, in addiction dedication and fascination, buy, buy, buy as Jon Landau gets more and more excited.
I truly, myself, don't know what it's about anymore except some ghosthunt for youth, using his shows as a flashlight to shine on the ever growing weeds, vines and tentacles of age to remind myself of who I once was and more sadly, who I once wanted to be. I never dreamed I would spend thousands of dollars to see Him play time and again, so often the same set lists, at venues that I would not be caught dead in to see anyone else.
But I do, and I will as long as I can and I can't tell you why. I can't tell you why I still am excited as all hell to hear the guitar solo to Prove It each time I hear it. Every note is worth every mile, every gallon of gas, every dollar, every lost moment with friends and family and every lost moment with just myself..in silence..making my own music.
I don't know. I am the snake. I am the tail. I am Bruce's Zombie of Rock and Roll! Lead on, Pied Piper with a Stratocaster. Trouble is, I hit my 60's and have nothing to show for this but faded memories, tapes, and moments in my mind. He has a large estate, cars and, on the backs of us the Little Folk, a place in history. Bruce did not put himself up there - we did. We did because he's good. Damn good.

Snake eating tail, more like a mobius strip. :D:D
Is this a bad habit??? Well, there's a 12 step program for Bruce Fanatics...everything from apologizing to your friends/family about missing parties/weddings/funerals because of show to recognizing that there is a Bruce and our lives in manipulated by his doings.
Ok, ok...sorry if I offended anyone with the 12 step stuff. Just being silly.

I like your response Admiralkosmos. I just discovered this world a mere 2 years ago. I had been to see him before that but I didn't know that I could have gone to more than one show on a tour. Since then I have become "hooked" and feel like I need to catch up. (I guess that is where my need for full band tours is so great) I have changed some things around in my life so I can experience everything and not miss much. Have I done things that, 2 plus years ago, I never thought that I would do to see Him? Yes. Have I regretted any of it? No. Have I had a blast doing everything? Yes. Am I done? Absolutely NOT!!!! These memories and great moments I wouldn't trade for anything in the world!

I will probably have to enter the 12 step program for Bruceaholics, but I'm just not prepared to admit I have a problem yet. I guess I haven't sunk far enough into the depths. I just hope that my friends and family don't force me by intervention.

Thanks, Beautiful. As to the memories, aside from the two Harry's shows, I am saddened to learn that I rarely have distinct memories of the shows themselves. Perhaps the 2nd New Haven show on the 1999 Tour. Perhaps the opening night of June 4, 1999 at the Garden with 41 Shots, perhaps because it was 4th row. But overall, I am saddened to learn that my show gluttony has a dark underside: the shows begin to morph together, fading in a rock and roll anonymity....perhaps they'll come back to me clear as a bell when I"m 80. God, I'm looking forward to that. Seeing Mulheren backstage again, alive and bigger than life....perhaps there is sweetness ahead.

I know that one thing that bugs our eldest son is that I can reall which show we saw which song. We'll be driving along and Trish will say where did we see such and such. Then I will give her the show and date.
AK, don't ever leave....your eloquence is refreshing. :D:D
