GIs criticize
Soldiers from Massachusetts and Hawaii who work at the U.S. military detention facility at U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, gave visiting home-state senators a piece of their mind last week.
Sens. Edward M. Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat, and Daniel K. Akaka, Hawaii Democrat, met with several soldiers during a visit led by Armed Services Committee Chairman Sen. John W. Warner, Virginia Republican.
Pentagon officials said soldiers criticized the harsh comments made recently by Senate Democrats.
Sen. Richard J. Durbin of Illinois, the Senate's No. 2 Democrat, last month invoked widespread military outrage when he compared Guantanamo to the prison labor systems used by communist tyrant Josef Stalin, Cambodia's Pol Pot and Adolf Hitler.

Once again, the Rev. Moon's paper is used as a credible source.

You don't get sarcasm very well, do you?
No one with a brain thinks the Washington Times is a good source.
Except maybe for the Moonies.

DSK will be happy to know he's a liberal......since he's the one who posted the article from the Times.
For the record, I've never seen anyone but conservatives cite that rag.

apparently these events happened...why does it matter if it came from the Washington Times?
You liberals only believe what you read in the NY Slimes.

Here's a conservative website's take on the Moonie Washington Times. I didn't realize that in 2001, they published a statement from Jesus Christ anointing Reverand Moon as the true Christ. Did anyone notify the Vatican?

But here's a much more exhaustive look at the paper and its biases.

It matters because the Washington Times has a very specific orientation to it, and is as incapable of reporting reality as is the National Enquirer.
For the record, I regularly read both conservative and liberal columnists. I see valid points coming from both sides.
According to the article posted, the real source for the comments allegedly made by the soldiers was a Pentagon official, not the soldiers themselves, whose comments might have taken a completely different tone from what was reported here. If the Pentagon were so sure of what the soldiers were saying, why weren't they permitted to make their criticisms themselves?
