You can somehow say this

To help children make right choices, they need good examples. Athletics play such an important role in our society, but, unfortunately, some in professional sports are not setting much of an example. The use of performance-enhancing drugs like steroids in baseball, football, and other sports is dangerous, and it sends the wrong message -- that there are shortcuts to accomplishment, and that performance is more important than character. So tonight I call on team owners, union representatives, coaches, and players to take the lead, to send the right signal, to get tough, and to get rid of steroids now.

and then say this

"Rafael Palmeiro is a friend. He testified in public and I believe him, the kind of person that's going to stand up in front of the klieg lights and say he didn't use steroids, and I believe him. Still do."

It is amazing the "loyalty" a $5000 campaign contribution can get ya.

I guess since no one has a video with Raffy shoving a needle in his arm it can't be true.

Liars get closer to the Prez, and incompetents get promoted. Where is Mr. Mxyzptlk when we need him?

The trip was excellent, although it started off rather sh*tty. We get to the pier in Miami with 5 pieces of luggage (one had all of the snorkel gear and an Aerobed which we never used), my camera backpack, and a bunch of other carry on stuff. The porter took our 5 bags and placed them on the rolling luggage cart to go down to the ship, and I did what I NEVER do...I checked my camera backpack because 1) it was going right down to the ship and 2) we had so much other little crap to carry. Good-by $5700 worth of camera and video equipment. I was pretty steamed for about two days, and then figured there was nothing I could do about it at that point, so I might as well enjoy myself and not bring down the rest of the group, so enjoy we did. Snorkeling in Belize, beach in Cozumel, Mayan ruins in the Yucatan, and more snorkeling and Stingray City in Grand Cayman. Spectacular way to spend a week. Great sailing, no storms, and people catering to you all week. The Cruise Director summed it up the last night, telling us she felt bad for us, because in 24 hours we would be at our dinner talbe for hours, wondering why no one was bringing us our food :).

I did check in here to see what was going on, but it was a major snoozefest on the Rant page. Wassamatta with you people anyway? ;)

The cruiseline did call again today to tell me they have not found my bag yet. Duh.

I did notice that things were kinda slow without you around......

Sounds like a completely awesome vacation (except for the obvious..) What cruise line were you on?

We were on Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas. A floating city at sea. The kids loved it.

We did not go to Chichen Itza, as that was way too far from port. Instead we went to a site that was just opened to the public in the last few years called Chacchoben. Very interesting. If you ever get down that way, here is a link to the tour folks you should use: http://www.chacchobenruins.com/.

And Ties, I prefer to think of them as platinum ;).
