Before Mariah checked into her luxe suite at the Raleigh Hotel, a source tells Star that she insisted the suite "be filled with beautiful white orchids, humidifiers, special dimmed lighting, candles, curtains - the works!" Even more diva-licious, Mariah was on "vocal rest," says the source, two days before she performed at the VMAs. "She was not speaking to anyone. She whispered a bit, but mainly wrote things down for her assistants." Divine!
