Record company is sued over crash

The manager of rapper Stat Quo has sued rapper Eminem's record company and a bus driver over a crash in Missouri that sent the manager and 10 other people to the hospital.

It is the second suit over the accident. The wreck occurred on July 14 after Eminem's tour bus, traveling at a "high rate of speed," swerved onto the shoulder of Interstate 70 near Odessa, Mo., according to a police report.

The bus driver overcorrected and hit the side of a tractor-trailer, then hit another truck before crossing into the median and falling onto its side, the report said.

In the suit filed Saturday in St. Louis Circuit Court, Joseph Fendrick, manager for rapper Stat Quo, claims Charlie Dilligard, the bus driver, was negligent because he drove too fast, failed to brake at a safe distance and failed to maintain control of the bus.

Fendrick says he suffered numerous injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in Independence, Mo., where he remained until July 29.

Other defendants named in the suit include Shady Records, Eminem's record company, and Entertainment Coaches of America Inc., a Florida company that owned and operated the bus. Dilligard and representatives of the other defendants could not be reached for comment.

Last week, a truck driver and his wife, whose truck was hit by the tour bus, filed suit against Eminem.
