Sun was an actress?
Good thing MerrySun likes voices when she sleeps. We didn't keep her up with constant shouting during her DC visit then.
Clerks: I lived in Baltimore right after college. It's a nonpretentious city, but I found it kind of limited...especially the industry and culture.
SidewaysY
Jan 5th, 2001, 01:18 PM
Iggy needs pretencious cities to be happy. I'll just bet you never lived on a dirt road before, have you?
iggy
Jan 5th, 2001, 01:28 PM
People would just start talking to me on the street and it would freak me out.
I lived on a dirt road for a summer...well the road in front of the house was dirt. Roughing it is overrated.

iggy, your voices were as a lullaby . . . . ;)
Actually, it would have been better if you all had been acting out a Three's Company episode for me. I usually stick the tube on Nick at Nite for my slumber sound . . . .

Jan 5th, 2001, 02:04 PM
I'm writing an angry letter to Nick at Nite since they moved Facts of Life from the original 10:00 PM time slot. Whoever heard of such a thing?
It's now on at 9:30. That's when I clean my rifles.

Jan 5th, 2001, 02:10 PM
The other day (last week even, maybe) I was flipping through and saw a girl that looked suspiciously like a 12 year old Molly Ringwold informing Mrs. Garrett that it was flooding five miles to the north and they'd better run for cover . . . or something like that. I didn't stick around to watch the credits, of course, to see if it really was Molly Ringwold, but maybe you know, dear iggy. Was Molly Ringwold on the pre-Joe Facts of Life when they lived in a sorority-type house and not in rooms, apparently, over the cafeteria?
iggy
Jan 5th, 2001, 02:14 PM
Oh dear. How did you not know that. She played Molly, the photography buff with divorcing parents. Some of her best work...buck teeth and all.
Other people made cameos...but they're too numerous to mention.
sunshinegirl
Jan 5th, 2001, 02:19 PM
I was watching Facts of Life the other night...reminded me how much I hated when they were still really little and Jo wasn't on the show.
As for my acting...well, it's not anything fabulous...I wasn't annoying enough to be a big star like the Pepsi girl (comments to yourself). But I was in a bunch of professional shows around Minneapolis from the time I was eight until I was thirteen. It was a lot of fun, and the money was great (did my parents make me save it for college? Oh no...instead I thought better to spend it on bikes and New Kids dolls, and the like...stupid short-sighted child) At thirteen, I decided I didn't want to do it anymore...I wanted to live a more normal life and I didn't want to go to a performing arts high school. So I stopped. Exciting story, isn't it
MerrySunshine
Jan 5th, 2001, 02:21 PM
I must confess that I've tried to block all Facts of Life memories from my mind . . . it's owing largely to Tootie, whom I found to be highly annoying in her youth (when she was supposed to be cute - her and her rollerskates!) and, later, highly boring in her college year . . . .
Let's talk Diff'rent Strokes, though. Now, there was a show!
