I use it all the time. I use it to edit vids I get from the internet as well as videotape I've captured through my capture device. I like it a lot actually, it works a lot better than the software that came with my video capture thing. What specifically do you wanna know?

I'm using clips I got from a dvd recorder, I download them off the dvd onto the computer. I've got the timeline open, I can't put it in the storyboard. If I click one frame, or clip or whatever they're called it plays just fine.. I can see the movie and hear it. But, if I right click, select all and then play entire storyboard/timeline and I can't see anything but I can hear it fine. Then after I save it as a movie, same deal.

So I suppose what I'm asking.. how do I get this to work? So I can see the video and hear it.

Hmm..ok. I haven't taken stuff directly from a DVD before...is it a copyrighted DVD?? cuz if it is, the program may not let you use the clips. I know it doesn't import/edit copyrighted video, so it might be the same deal. But if not.....um, do you maybe need to hook up video/audio cables? Like I know if I take stuff from a tape, I have to have video/audio cables hooked up from my VCR to my capture card to my comp. So, if video isn't plugged in correctly, there'll be no picture, but there'll be audio if THAT cable is plugged in. Is the DVD you're getting this from in your computer's disk drive, or is it in a DVD player/recorder that's hooked up to your computer??

no, it's not copyrighted.. or atleast it shouldn't be.. It's one we taped.. with a sony handycam or whatever they're called.

yea, it took them directly from the dvd onto my computer and they're in small 12-13 second clips that i tried to put together. it works as long as i just play one clip but when i try the whole thing its just sound.

Wow, um...hmmm.....so, when you have your clips layed out IN THE STORYBOARD.....is there a picture for each one? Or are they just black? Also, try this: RIGHT click on one of your clips that are already in the storyboard...hit "properties" and it'll give ya a whole list of stuff about the clip and toward the bottom under "source file" it will say "file type". Now if all is going well, it should say "Video WITH audio." If it only has one of these, in your case I'm guessing just "audio", then there might be some kind of defect in your file....

Ya then your video file type is definitely not supported. You'll probably have to convert the files. I PMed you some decent converter ideas. :)
