Here it is chicas!! Sorry it took so long, I've been busy getting my old site archived and all that stuff so i can start the new one. i've decided its just gonna be nick and aaron. sweetness right? well without further delay, i present to you My Only Wish This Year sequel to All I Want For Christmas is You!
Harley walked through the crowded shopping mall. She was finally home for the holidays and she was doing her Christmas shopping with her friend Noelle. They walked from store to store, stocking up with presents and sampling different songs. They walked into the food court for a snack. All the shopping was making them tired. The fought their way through the massive amounts of couples who were standing on lines and sitting at tables with all of their bags. After seeing yet another pair walking hand in hand, kissing and cuddling, Harley was fed up.
"Elle, why is it that everyone in this mall is with someone?" Harley asked
"Define with someone." Noelle said
"I mean, dating. It seems like we picked the day where every single couple in Florida had to go shopping." Harley groaned.
"Yeah, it does seem that way doesn't it?" Noelle asked
"Yeah. It's making me sad." Harley said
"Missing Aaron again huh?" Noelle asked
"I am pretty badly." Harley said
Last night I took a walk in the snow
Couples holding hands, places to go
Seems like everyone but me is in love
Santa can you hear me?
Harley had been thinking about Aaron non-stop the past few days. She was still devising a plan to get him back in time for the holidays. She was writing a letter basically detailing all of her Christmas wishes. She didn't know who she was writing it to though. She was too old to believe in Santa. But sometimes over those few days she thought that maybe if she channeled some of her old belief, she would be able to get what she wanted. She knew exactly what it was. And Harley was a determined kind of girl. She would stop at nothing to get what she wanted. The only thing was that she didn't know if it was going to work in this case.
"Well, what do you plan on doing about it? You can't just sit around and mope. That won't get you anywhere." Noelle said
"No kidding. I'm trying to figure something out. Everything I've come up with seems so lame." Harley replied
"Harley, it's Christmas. Its okay to be lame. I mean, that's what this holiday has become." Noelle said
"I know but I just don't know. I mean, could it really work?" Harley asked
"Anything is possible. Tis the season." Noelle said
I signed my letter that I sealed with a kiss
I sent it off
It just said this
I know exactly what I want this year
Santa can you hear me?
Noelle was right. Anything was possible. And even if it didn't work, Harley still had to try.
"You're right." Harley said
"I know I am. What is it that you really want?" Noelle asked
"Aaron in a big red bow." Harley joked
"In nothing but a big red bow?" Noelle asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Noelle, must you be so vulgar?" Harley asked laughing.
"I was merely asking a question. That is a crucial answer." Noelle said
"And why is that?" Harley asked
"It explains your true intentions." Noelle said
"Well then no. He can have clothes on. In fact that would be ideal. I just want him there to hold me." Harley said
I want my baby, baby
I want someone to love me, someone to hold
And maybe, maybe
He'll be all my own in a big red bow
"Aw, how absolutely sweet." Noelle said
"Shut up. Do not mock me in my weakened state." Harley said dramatically.
"You are not weak, you're becoming borderline pathetic." Noelle said
"Why is that?" Harley asked
"Because you're sitting here whining about how much you want Aaron back and yet you have come up with nothing definitive as a plan to do so." Noelle said
She hadn't. She thought really long and hard about it. When she got home, she was going to buckle down and come up with a plan. She couldn't deal with being afraid anymore. She had to just go for it. Whatever was to happen couldn't be any worse than what she was already living. Either Aaron would take her back or he wouldn't. There was just black and white. No gray. But she was still scared.
Santa can you hear me?
I have been so good this year
And all I want is one thing
Tell me my true love is near
He's all I want, just for me
Underneath my Christmas tree
I'll be waiting here
Santa, that's my only wish this year
When she got home that night, she set her plan into action. She finished her letter and stuck it under her pillow. She thought that by leaving it there, her wishes could escape and float into her dreams where they would be released into the open thought world. It was true. A dream is a wish your heart makes when you're fast asleep. She had many dreams over the nights leading closer to Christmas. Each one was filled with her and Aaron doing their usual Christmas time activites. They were baking cookies with her mom and her sister and then decorating paper chains and ornaments. When she woke up it was always the same sad reality. None of that was happening.
Soon it was Christmas Eve. Time for all of the final preparation for the next day. That morning, Harley and Noelle got together to exchange gifts and watch movies with Emily before it was time to go to her grandparents house for dinner. She was kind of dreading dinner because it had been something she had brought Aaron to the last few years and she knew her family was going to ask questions. Luckily for her, they kept the questioning to a minimum and she got through dinner successfully. After dinner and dessert at her Aunt's house, she finally returned home. She went up to her room and crossed the day off her calendar before going to sleep. Despite her sadness, she was filled with a child-like excitment. She had a feeling something good was coming.
Christmas Eve, I just can't sleep
Would I be wrong for taking a peek?
Cause I heard that you're comin' to town
Santa can you hear me?
Really hope that you're on your way
With something special for me on your sleigh
Oh please make my wish come true
Santa can you hear me?
I want my baby, baby
I want someone to love me, someone to hold
Maybe, maybe
We'll be all in love under the misteltoe
Santa can you hear me?
I have been so good this year
And all I want is one thing
Tell me my true love is near
He's all I want, just for me
Underneath my Christmas tree
I'll be waiting here
Santa, that's my only wish this year
While she laid in bed, she thought of the excitement the next day would bring. Opening presents was always fun, no matter how young or old she was. It was also nice because she got to spend time with her family who she never got to see while at school. She hoped Emily liked her present and hoped her mom's pajamas fit and her dad hadn't already read the book she got him. The for some reason, her mind drifted to the letter she had written to "Santa" but never sent. The one that was under her pillow. She reached under her pillow to look at it and discovered that it was gone. What had happened to it? She searched her room frantically for it and turned up empty handed. She was worried that it had gotten into the wrong hands. No one was supposed to have seen it! She got back in bed and fretted over what could have possibly happened to it before falling asleep.
I hope my letter reaches you in time
Bring me a love I can call all mine
Cause I have been so good, so good this year
Can't be alone under the misteltoe
He's all I want in a big red bow
The next morning, Harley woke up with a skip in her step. She was excited to see what she had gotten for Christmas. She went into the bathroom and brushed her teeth before heading down to the kitched where she heard the morning already beginning. Her mom and dad were sitting at the table drinking coffee and her sister was mixing pancake batter.
"Merry Christmas everyone!" Harley exclaimed, sitting at the table with her parents.
"Merry Christmas sweetheart. How did you sleep?" her mom asked
"Well thanks. How was your night?" Harley asked
"Long but that is so typical of Christmas Eve." her mom replied
Harley nodded and went to join her sister at the stove. They hugged.
"Merry Christmas brat." Harley said
"Thanks. Want to help?" Emily asked
"Of course. I'll stir, you take care of the flipping and such." Harley said
"Deal." Emily replied
They began cooking together like they had so many times before. While they were waiting, and Harley was sure her parents were listening, she decided to ask Emily if she knew the whereabouts of her letter.
"Hey Em, while you were in my room yesterday, you didn't happen to notice an envelope on my floor or anything did you?" Harley asked
"Nope. Why do you ask?" Emily questioned
"Because I think I misplaced something." Harley replied
"Well I haven't seen it. Was it important?" Emily asked. Harley thought for a second.
"No, its no big deal. I was just curious." Harley said
Santa can you hear me?
I have been so good this year
And all I want is one thing
Tell me my true love is near
He's all I want, just for me
Underneath my Christmas tree
I'll be waiting here

After breakfast, the family moved the festivites to the living room so that they could open presents. Harley turned on their favorite Christmas cd and filled the room with the righ spirit for opening presents. As she began to tear into her presents like she was a kid again, she felt a nagging feeling about her letter. She really didn't know what could have happened to it. No one knew that it was there so there would have been no motivation to take it. And Emily said she hadn't seen it. But she could have been lying. She was always in Harley's room going through her stuff. She was probably trying to cover her tracks by saying she hadn't seen it. Soon, all of the presents were opened. Harley was happy with her gifts but couldn't help but wish she had gotten her ultimate gift. She picked her stuff up, intending to bring it to her room when Emily stopped her.
"I have one more thing for you." Emily said
"You do? Em, you didn't have to get me anything else. The necklace was nice enough." Harley said
"Oh, trust me, it was no problem. Close your eyes." Emily said
"Really Em, you don't have to be so secretive." Harley said, closing her eyes.
"Don't open them until I tell you its okay." Emily ordered.
"Okay, no problem. Get on with it!" Harley exclaimed, beginning to grow impatient.
Emily walked into the den and came back upstairs smiling.
"Open your eyes." Emily said
Harley did and there stood Aaron. Harley couldn't help but shriek.
"What are you doing here?" she asked him.
"You're sister showed me your letter." Aaron replied. Harley shot Emily a dirty look.
"Oh please, you'll be thanking me later." Emily scoffed
"So..." Harley said
"So did you really mean what you wrote in your letter?" Aaron asked
"I did. I have been so miserable without you these past few months." Harley confessed
"I know. I have too. I've missed you so much." Aaron said
"But what about your girlfriend?" Harley asked
"I made her up." Aaron confessed
"Seriously?" Harley asked, her eyes wide.
"Yeah. I could never date anyone but you. Harley, would you be my girlfriend again?" Aaron asked
"Of course!" Harley exclaimed, throwing herself on him.
They hugged and kissed and it was a magical holiday moment. Harley had truly gotten everything she wanted.
Oh Santa, can you hear me? Oh Santa
