Mariah made several of the year-end lists in the January/February issue of "Blender Magazine" which hits the stands on December 20th.

In the issue titled "Buhbye 2005", both the magazine editors and the readers rank their favorite musicians of the year. Here are Mariah's positions on the various lists:

Blender's Top 100 Songs of 2005
#15 - We Belong Together - For three minutes and 21 seconds, we are all the prom kings and queens, and it's slow-dance time.

#38 - Shake It Off - Bad boyfriend? Just do what Mariah does here: Dump his ass in a voicemail, then steal his car.

Blender's 50 Greatest CDs of 2005
#12 - The Emancipation of Mimi - All that stuff about a butterfly coming out of its cocoon? Now it's finally true! A couple of years ago, this smash was basically unthinkable. Mariah was pop's Courtney Love, suffering post-Glitter meltdowns, writing to her lambs from a rehab bed, and- if you believe Eminem - begging for booty calls. But guided by R&B whiz Jermaine Dupri, she traded stemware-shattering histrionics for velvety diva cool and scored three ginormous singles and counting. Welcome back, Mimi.

Hero of the Year Poll
#3 - Mariah Carey (with 17% of the votes)

Album of the Year Poll
#2 - The Emancipation of Mimi (with 18.9% of the votes)

Stylus Magazine's Top 50 Singles of 2005
#35 - We Belong Together - For a few months it couldn't be avoided, but who would want to? The biggest song of the year with no competitors for miles, Mariah's comeback was so perfect PR gurus couldn't have manufactured it; this was a performance so evocative that there wasn't a soul alive who didn't sing along with the radio when (in its most memorable moment) a distraught Ms. Carey sings along with the radio (how meta!) and we all know how she feels. Only difference was, none of us dared to change the station.
