It was the 28th wednesday night and he loved it so did my daughter. The pittsburgh steelers QB was there right in front of my daughter and she told him he sucked. She likes Tom Brady. She touched Shelton Benjamin and some other guy she wanted to shake hands with Cena but the security guard would not move. They both enjoyed themselves they always do they go every time they are in town.

Is your son the one who is a big John Cena fan? I've gone to three events before, but I was never that close. It must have been a great experience.

My son loves Cena so does my daughter but for other reasons lol he also like Batista and he got to see him the last time raw was here because they did some interpromotional match and all the other match's were aired on tv except that one it was last. Last time they had 2nd row seats this time they had 4th row but were right next to the ramp. Which they like it there now.

Were tickets quite expensive? I went several years ago and they were quite expensive back then so I assume they're worse today. Is it Ben Roesthlisberger(sp?)? WWE's website said he was backstage at an event recently so I assume he's the quarterback you're talking about?

I'm just sick of hearing about them. I used to be a fan of the Giants, 49ers, and Browns, but the players and their selfishness has largely turned me off from watching the sport too much. I'll definitely watch the Super Bowl though.

See with the Pats they all don't make as much money as some other players. Brady took a pay reduction just to keep some of the better players there he is more interested in winning superbowls instead of making money. Belicheck is a wonderful coach. Probably one of the best in the business right now.
I know what you mean for example Heinz ward held out for money and a extension on his contract instead of playing i really hate that. If you love the game then just play in the long run you will make money from endorsements etc etc. Too many players worry about the almighty buck.

Tom Brady was talking to one of the news shows, and he said he made around $6 million per year. It may have been a little more. I'm not sure. It may not be as much as some of the other quarterbacks, but it's still an awful lot of money. Also, I remember Bill Belicheck coaching the Browns and he couldn't lead them very far. I think he'll have to coach another team to prove how great of a coach he really is.
The minimum salary is around $300,000 per year. I would love to see one of the great players ask for the minimum. Even just one of them. They could definitely live off of that salary easily.

In my opinion 1 million is too much for any player they are all over paid but if you compare this to many other Qb's he is underpaid and Brady was signed for 30 million but thats over a period of 7 years so thats less then 6 million but still too much. Bengals just signed Palmer to an outragest amount of money i cannot remember the figure right now it is too early. But the Pats have been known to beat the salary cap for many years. Yes Bill is one of the greatest coach's ever its been noted on many occasions by many newcasters that agree with me and many other people. Bill isn't like some coach's who are arrogant and rude he is a very nice soft spoken coach we have met him and he was very nice. I don't think Bill will go to another team he is quite happy with the Pats and Brady has been quoted as saying wherever Bill goes i go. I don't see Craft getting rid of Bill just because of Brady. Matt Cassel is another example of a fine QB very young and yes he is with the Pats too. He happens to be a dead ringer for Brady we met him too. I also think the the Bengals QB Palmer is very good and so will the Ravens QB he has improved alot too. His name has excaped my memory too.

I'm not too familiar with coaches but I do believe that every team has performed better with Parcells coaching them(even the Jets, who had maybe 1 win before Parcells) so you can make a case that he is the best coach in football today. I definitely agree that quarterbacks are very overpaid. I've read the money that Peyton Manning makes. I think it's around $11 per year. That's ridiculous. I don't even think pro wrestlers are worth close to that much. Firefighters, police cops, doctors, and many other people who are necessary for every society should be getting much more money than pro athletes.
The Patriots' game starts soon.

I watched parts of the first half, and I thought both teams played lousy. There was a call early in the third quarter where the Patriot obviously interfered in the pass but it was never called. It could have changed the momentum of the entire game.
I also watched parts of the Giants game. If Eli continues to throw interceptions, I think the Giants should think of getting rid of him. If he can improve, I think they'll be easily the best team in that conference.

I didn't watch most of the second half of the Patriots game, so I can't comment on that. I heard the Jaguars were missing a lot of tackles, one play in particular.
I didn't watch much of the Pittsburgh game. My father was yelling at the television a lot. He claims the Steelers were getting away with a lot of calls, but he seems to feel that way every game. He hates the Steelers with a passion.

I assume you're not a Colts fan, then? If they don't win the Super Bowl this year, it will be a huge disappointment to the team. Their defense is better than it has been anytime recently, they have finally been able to defeat the Patriots, and they have home field advantage. I think they'll defeat the Bears in the Super Bowl. I don't even know all that much about football, but they should definitely be considered the favorites. People talk about Manning as if he is one of the best ever, but he's going to have to win a Super Bowl to be considered one of the best. He should definitely be considered the best quarterback around today though, even without a Super Bowl. In my opinion, anyways.

Manning is a great QB right up there with Brady, Montana, Palmer etc etc.. No i really don't like the colts but what most people don't remember is that the colts choke in playoffs. He won't have to win a superbowl to be considered a great QB many have not won superbowls and are considered this. Marino is one i can think of off the top of my head. Most polls show 50/50 on who will win between the steelers and colts. I would love to see a steelers/pats plat after that. That would be soooo good. I don't like the steelers but if they play the way they did this past weekend the colts will have a tough time of it.

Could you really compare any of today's better quarterbacks to players like Montana, Young, Starr, and Marino? I don't think they've been playing long enough to be considered legends yet. I don't really understand what makes a quarterback a legend, as I'm not an expert in the sport and I don't even watch it too often. I would not even consider John Elway for the Hall of Fame, but so many people say how wonderful he was. His rating and completion percentage are very average. People talk about how many comebacks he had at the end of the game, but maybe if he had not thrown so many interceptions, his team would have won prior to that. If that's all you're good at, I don't you should be considered all that great. I would consider him to be the most overrated quarterback ever.
I'm not sure who are considered the favorites, but I would think the Colts are a huge favorite in that game. I honestly think the Broncos will defeat the Patriots, but it depends which team shows up. I remember they were crushing the Patriots in their game this year, but then they started to lose it at the end and held on. They weren't playing very well at the end of that game.

Well when you compare Montana's and Brady's records they are dead on and in fact Brady is ahead of Montana on a few things. That's how i tell if they are considered legends.
It just depends on how each team is on game day. Like i said if the Steelers play they way they did this past weekend then the Colts have a challange. Just have to wait and see.

Which stats are you looking at? I believe Montana is second in passer rating(behind Steve Young) and in completion percentage(again behind Young). I thought they were considered the two most important stats for any quarterback.
Who are you rooting for in the NFC? I hope the Bears win.

I didn't stay up to watch the end of the Patriots game. I guess there was one play that could be considered questionable(the interception to the one yard line could have been considered a touchback). They didn't have a good enough view to change the call. You'd have to have a replay from directly above where the ball went out of bounds in order to determine where it really went out of bounds.

Yeah it was questionable don't know if it would of mattered the 3 turnovers is what hurt them. I give credit where credit is due Vrabel was all over the place and played a heck of a game. Brady would of been able to complete passes if the line would of done a better job. Both defenses were great. The better team won. I still cannot believe the steelers won that game tho. However i don't think they will get past the broncos.

Could it be playoff statistics? Brady's rating(regular season) is around 88.5 and Montana's was 92.3 so I'm thinking maybe postseason statistics? They could also be comparing the statistics for only Montana's first five years or so. They could be close if you look at it that way. He's doing very well right now, but we'll have to talk 5-10 years from now for a better comparison.

Yes i did say that the steelers were playing well in the playoff rounds esp. against cincy. The nfl reviewed the bad call yesterday and overturned the ruling saying it was a interception. I just thought that the Colts were going to take it all but then again Manning always chokes in playoffs.

So, what if Indianapolis had won? Could they possibly start the game over from that play, or would the Colts still continue to the next round? I'm assuming the Colts would still be considered the winners, but I'm not sure how that would work.
It's a shame that the Colts play like this in the playoffs. Marvin Harrison has posted some fantastic stats as a receiver and he should make the Hall of Fame. If he doesn't make it into a Super Bowl, I don't think he'll make it in. Art Monk and Michael Irvin are both considered questionable, and they're considered as two of the ten best receivers ever. I'm assuming Manning won't have much of a problem since he is a quarterback, but receivers are treated much differently. Jerry Rice will obviously make it in(he does hold almost every receiver record, many by a wide margin), but most others will have problems. It's a shame that they treat wide receivers the way they do.

I have asthma as well. It is a mild form though. I have wondered what the big deal about Bettis is. He's good but people talk about him like he's a legend. I guess he was outstanding in Notre Dame(my father is a fan and used to watch them) and once carried maybe 5 players on his back at one time. However, his NFL career hasn't been outstanding IMO.

I guess we'll found out in a few years. I wouldn't be surprised if he does. Some positions have a much easier time making it in than others. Some great wide receivers like Art Monk and Michael may not make it in, while a quarterback or running back has a much easier time making it in.

I'm not sure whether it was Seattle's or Carolina's playing that caused that game to be such a blowout. The Panthers looked terrible. The Giants could have beaten them if they played like that. It looked like Delhomme threw it directly to a Seahawk on two occassions.

Have they announced the musical acts for the Super Bowl yet? I know the Rolling Stones are doing the halftime show, and Jagger is many, many years past his prime. I may be able to sing as good as he does, and I am a terrible singer. He was good in his prime, but singers tend to become much worse as they get older and he's definitely one example. They have singers perform before the show, and they have the National Anthem. I hope they're going with younger musicians this time.

I really don't know they both have great defenses we will see. As for crowd support the tickets were both divided up evenly for both teams so we will see the nfl has the most tickets to distribute to all nfl players who recieve 2 tickets each. And the detriot lions have just a little more considering that they are playing in their stadium.

I'm pretty sure some teams have had more support in just about every Super Bowl I have watched. Did they change the rules recently? I was assuming that the Steeler fans would pack up most of the stadium considering how loyal they're supposed to be. Also, are commercials more expensive than usual?

From what was on espn the other day each teams fan base gets to buy a equal amount of tickets then each team in the superbowl get a certain amount of tickets for their families then the nfl gets the most of the tickets to hand out to each bfl player in the football league they each get 2 tickets each. The the hosting team being the lions get a small amount of tickets to be sold at the venue and thats about it. So it should be pretty even of course you get people who don't want their tickets or bought their tickets wanting to make a profit and will sell them. Haven't heard anything about the commercials this year don't know why but haven't but there is still next week. Everything around here is about Bettis and the steelers but mostly about Bettis.

Yeah my son still watch's smackdown and my daughter would buy cheerleading is in the way right now and she works but friday nights are cheerleading nights with basketball. But she is awaiting Batista's return. You watching the Rumble tonight on pay per view. My son can't wait. My cable bill can tho. lol My daughter even watched his surgery online it was interesting i usually don't like watching that but interesting and sais he will be back in about 3 or 4 months which i thought was fast.
So what do you think about the arena football? i am watching as i type I love the Philadelphia Soul not just because Jon Bon Jovi is majority owner and board president. I enjoy football. Couldn't wait for it to start and they are off to a great start.

I don't have access to cable or PayPerView so I wasn't able to watch it. I heard it was a disappointment. I will probably purchase it at a later date, even if it was considered a terrible PayPerView.
I have only watched maybe one Arena football game in my life. We used to hear a lot about it since the Albany team was pretty good, but I haven't been paying much attention lately. I'm not even sure if they still have a team.

I may decide to download a few songs. Which songs do you think I should download?
Is Jerry Rice doing any announcing like many of the other former players are? He used to be my favorite player. He's undoubtedly the greatest wide receiver who ever played, as he holds almost every single wide receiver record there is. For yards, catches, and touchdowns for a career, he holds the record by a very large margin. There's nobody like him. I think he would be a great announcer.

Anything from the Slippery When Wet cd is great that whole cd is the best they have ever done.
You give love a bad name
livin on a prayer
wanted dead or alive
i'd die for you
or even their one wild night cd its a live cd with all the good ones on it
it's my life
you give love a bad name
something to believe in
in and out of love
just older - one of my faves
bad medicine- i think everyone has heard this one
lay your hands on me- this is my all time fave song of theirs
have a nice day- the newest single its good
As for Jerry Rice haven't heard anything about him. Yes Rice is a great player and of course my all time favorite is Joe Montana which played with Rice the 49's will always be my fave team but they haven't done much since rice and montana. I haven't been following too much about the superbowl since the Pats are not in it but it's hard when i turn on the tv and all the local news people are in detriot. They have had alot about Bettis i guess his mother cooked for the whole team last night at their home in detriot. I don't care for the Steelers but i hope they will at least for Bettis who seems to be the most humble player i have ever seen. Friends of ours payed $25,000 dollars for tickets and i'm sure they are great seats if not a box because we all joke around they are greene county's millionaires they hit the lottery for about 18 million several years ago. Must be nice but thats who we get our tickets from when the Pats come to town they have season tickets that use to be my Aunt's so they always give us tickets when we want them.

It is a little odd seeing how bad San Fransisco is now, considering how good they were even just several years ago. Montana, Young, and Rice left, and they did have a good year or two after that. Then Owens, Stokes, and Garcia left, and now they're one of the worst teams in football. There were so many bad teams this year that their draft pick isn't even that low and they had just 4 wins. I'm sure they'll turn it around sometime soon.
Are you saying that it is $25,000 per ticket, or is that for several tickets? I know it is expensive, but I didn't think it was nearly that much.

I'm so sick of Jerome Bettis by now. He couldn't lead the Rams anywhere, then he couldn't lead the Steelers(who had just made the Super Bowl) very far either. He only makes the Super Bowl as a reserve. He's not worthy of being a legend IMO.

I think they would do a much better job than the Rolling Stones or Paul McCartney have done.
It seems that a lot of people believed that was a terrible Super Bowl. I haven't heard any good reviews about it yet. The calls did seem very bad as well. It looked as if both players shoved each other so the Seahawks should have had the first touchdown rather than a field goal.

Was the parade shown on cable? I didn't realize they televised it. I honestly had wished he hadn't won one as I don't think he's all that good. There's no such thing as a "seahawk" so I consider them to be a fraud of a football team. Therefore, I wasn't really rooting for either teams. I just wish Indianapolis had made it much further.

I just thought the Patriots looked terrible throughout much of this season. Had a few games not gone their way, they could have had 1 win halfway through the season. They were healthy towards the end and looked bad against the Bronco's. I'm sure they'll be better next season, but I'm not sure how much better. I have a feeling the Colts will win the Super Bowl over the next two years. Harrison can't have too many good seasons left, so they'll have to do it soon.
Who's Hope? That name doesn't sound familiar. I don't even think the Steelers are that good, so I think they got lucky this year. It would be a shame for them if one of their best players went to the Patriots. The Pro Bowl is tomorrow, right?

They said the same about Steve Young. They lost to Dallas two straight years(one of those years they were the best team in the regular season at 14-2) then finally were able to beat them that next year. Time will only tell. I think that is the only way Marvin Harrison will make it in to the Hall of Fame, unfortunately.

Do they have a minimum number of Hall of Famers they have to put in each year? I think half of the players in the Hall(or at least close to that many) don't belong in there. Yet Art Monk hasn't been put in yet. It doesn't make any sense to me.

What exactly does a cheerleading coach do? I don't watch much college basketball. Most of what I watch is the NBA. It was very exciting during the 1980's with Bird vs. Johnson and continued to be very exciting during the '90's, but it just can't be compared today. I have to organize all fundraising, activities, get a dance instructor to teach competition routine. I have to be at each and every practice and go to each and every game i am basically a chaperone. It's a time consuming job and there is lots of arguing amoung the girls mostly i put to a stop. I am fair since my daughter is on the squad i have another friend of mine who does this with me and she has no daughter on the squad so it balances out and no one can say shes letting her daughter do it all blah blah blah.
Yeah the only NBA we watch or should i say my son watches is Miami because of Shag. Hope i spelled his name right. lol But thats about it he use to watch Michael Jordan all the time before he retired. But we mostly watch college. WVU has a great team this year and last year don't know what they will do when all these seniors graduate a few of them are going to be in the first round of the draft.
It sounds like fun. Michael was a very fun player to watch, but I wouldn't say the same for Shaq. I think both helped ruin the sport in some ways because, with Bird and Magic, there was a big emphasis on passing, and gradually there has been less and less emphasis on that. I love a great passer who is capable of making a great play as well, so I'd say Steve Nash is my favorite player right now. I may have to start watching college basketball more often.

Yeah WVU has some great players and the one i hope i spell this right Pittsnogle made 18 3 pointers in one game which was a record he is amazing. He is one of the ones who is supposivly in the first round of the NBA draft and the NBA wanted him last year to forgo his senior year to enter the draft and he said no.

Is he expected to be the first pick in the draft? The Celtics could use a great player like him.
Are basketballs made of authentic leather? I have heard that other basketball leagues have switched but I think the NBA still uses leather.

I think Pittsnogle is a center.
It's hard to watch all the time with 2 kids. My son does watch. My husband doesn't really like to watch sports that much except for football. He'd rather watch a movie. The only thing i watch all the time is American Idol.

I hope you get to see some of it. I may watch several games. I'm assuming Duke is one of the favorites(as usual), and I have heard they were undefeated for a long time in the beginning of the season. I think I'm pulling for them but I don't see myself betting on any of the games.

I guess Duke is ranked third now. They had lost two games recently. They are expected to play against the University of Albany. They're a local team so people are making a big deal about it. The tournament brackets will be given later today. I just hope the final game of the tournament is good.

You're not loyal towards Pittsburgh teams, are you? I'm certainly not loyal to local teams either.
Did you see all of the transactions in football? I'm surprised the Colts would let Edgarin go to another team that easily. I guess Adam Viniatari(sp?) will probably be signing with another team, and Andre Davis left the Patriots as well. Some surprising decisions they have made.

Yeah i wish Vinatieri would resign with the Pats crosses fingers. I think everyone will be surprised once this is done.
No i don't care for Pittsburgh teams. I wasn't surprised when Randle El went to the Redskins but boy everyone around here was. I kept telling them it's all about the MONEY. No one listened. I root for WVU alot there are closer to me then Pitt. Morgantown is only 15 minutes away and we go there at least 3 or 4 times a week. I just really don't like Pittsburgh teams thats all never really have.

I don't care for Pittsburgh teams either. It's generally Eastern teams(Celtics, Mets, NY Giants) but it's not the case every time.
What happened regarding the rules? It seems that bad teams are picking up a lot of players, so I'm thinking the good teams don't have the money to afford these players anymore. The Patriots, Chargers, and Colts may not be as good next year. It could become a very unpredictable sport with each year.

I think the Pats will be fine they had a lot of hurt players last year. McGuinnest left but he's been around for a long time so i'm sure Belicheck has a reason. As for Vinatieri thats one i hope they resign. But they picked up a few good players that got playing time last year. Wasn't the salary cap increased this year not sure if i heard that right.
Now my daughter picks teams based on looks. This is why she loves the Pats she is in love with Brady. I sit here in her room on the computer while she is at school and there are throws on the walls of Brady and a cut out lifesize of Brady pictures of him when we were in pittsburgh watching the game. It's crazy she also likes Bruschi and Harrison and Vinatiera for there looks too but she will argue they can play a hell of a game.

The Patriots may still be good but I have doubts about some of the other teams. If the Colts can't pick up a running back, I'm not sure how well they'll do next year. At least this may make the sport more unpredictable;that can't be a bad thing.
Do you consider Tom Brady gorgeous as well?

Yeah Brady is hot i give him that much as i look at all the pics and posters on my daughter's wall. lol
Well what do you think about march madness so far so many teams lower ranked beating the better ranked teams. I'm glad WVU won today now crosses fingers that Pitt loses tonight.
I happen to think that the Colt's really are not as good as alot of people think. They always choke in playoffs. I have always been a 49ers fan too Joe Montana i use to be in love with when i was a teenager. I still like them they just haven't been that good. Hopefully they will rebound. But i will also root for the Pats too. They have such a diverse and dynamic team they always seem to just pull ahead and win. It's really exciting to watch them that's for sure. I just wish we lived closer to Gillette Stadium cause we would have season tickets. Have you ever been to a NFL game it is very exciting. We go every year when the Pats come to town.

It's funny that we're talking about two different subjects at one time(maybe more). I've been to several minor league baseball games(we live close to Albany, and we used to watch the Albany Colonie Yankees frequently), a few major league baseball games, and one Celtics exhibition game(back when my childhood hero Larry Bird played for them). Other than that, I don't think I've been to any professional sports games live. I have heard football games are great to see live, so there's always a chance I may see one live at some point.
I'm not sure what to think about the tournament. Duke looked very good today, so I think they have a decent shot at winning the tournament. I was hoping Albany would defeat UConn yesterday as the local area has had very little in terms of good sports teams, but they stunk at the end of the game.
What players do you think will be first to be drafted in the NBA? I've heard so many good things about JJ Redick, so I'm thinking he could be the first pick.

Yeah if you get the chance NFL games are the best when you are there.
I'm kinda thinking Duke will win it all.
JJ Redick, Pittsnogle (wvu), the kid from Syracuse my mind went blank. There is alot of good players out there i just hear about wvu the most since i live so close to it. Pittsnogle is supposed to be drafted in the first round i know for sure. But there are several very good players on the WVU team Gansey, herber, Bielen (I know i spelled that wrong) he's the coach's son and he never starts him because of that but he is very good.

I guess there was a big upset yesterday. I'm not sure who was beaten though. Was it a number 1? I have watched clips of many games but I haven't watched them in their entirety. I'm really not sure who will win. It seems very unpredictable so I'll just stick with Duke right now.

We've seen about 4 Pats games when they come to Pittsburgh. I'm actually taping the QB challenge right with Brady for my daughter off of the NFL channel.

Yeah they both like the Pats she finally won over my son. Yes i agree when i have watched football with my Uncle he is yelling at the tv like they can hear them. But being at a game is totally different. Where we sit at the Steelers game when the Pats come is in season ticket holder seats so it is the same people there all the time unless they give away the tickets and there is a group of men brothers and a father who sit right in front of us and really harrass my daughter but in all goodness that is. They always shack her hand when the Pats win but they go at it the whole time the game is on. She gives it right back. But then you get those fans when you are walking into the stadium who are really awful and mean what they say. But after the game they usually have nothing to say esp when the Pats win which they usually do.

How do you get season ticket holder seats? I would think they would be hard to find. Did you see the Pittsburgh-New England AFC Championship game two years ago? I know that was in Pittsburgh.

My family has had them in the family for a long time i'm talking years at least 30 years or so. You have to be put on a waiting list at leastt in Pittsburgh and they are very expensive $200.00 a ticket for these ones. Yes we were at the last 3 games that were held in pittsburgh when the Pats were here. They are not coming this year so i guess we either have to go to Cinncy or I dunno if they are playing the Browns or make a trip to Boston.

I was thinking they would pick up the Colts' kicker but that didn't happen. I'm sure they'll find a replacement but I don't think they'll be quite as good.
I was very happy with the results as well. He was the worst contestant on that show IMO. I'm hoping Taylor wins but I have doubts as to whether that will happen.

What Bon Jove song did Chris sing? The judges are obviously pushing for him to win it. I think Mandisa will finish second, with Chris winning the competition.
Football seems much harder to predict though. I think a lot of the good teams won't be quite as good, and many bad teams will be much better. So, I'm really not sure who will be the Super Bowl contenders. I don't think the Bronco's have lost much yet so I think they could have a very good season again.
