As a Bears fan and a NFC loyalist, I gotta go with the Seahawks. The only condition would be if those "cheeseheads" made it to the Super Bowl, then I'd have to go with the AFC team.

I feel that way about the Cowboys and Giants.

It's quite weird around Philadelphia this year. It's almost as though there's no game happening today. I guess we haven't quite recovered from last year. :(

As somebody who was in the end not really caring who won, I felt that the refs were in Pittsburgh's pockets... Way too many flags against Seattle, and many late.

I dont think any flags came way late, and none of the calls were horrible calls. Some were obviously probably not the right ones but that happens in every dame. The Offensive pass interference call while not called often for a play like that by the rule book it was just that. The one on Hasselbeck didnt change anything. There were some Holding calls that were iffy but nothing so obviously wrong that would make it seem like the refs were in the steelers pockets. The seahawks had their chances and they failed.

The Roethlisberger TD was called late, the ref wasn't sure, and they still didn't overturn it.

For all the people talking about Irvin not making it to Canton this weekend, he wouldn't have been close to making it to the Hall if they called that offensive pass interference on him. Sounds like a double standard to me.

The Big Ben touchdown was called late because i think the ref was trying to decide if he did cross the plane or not and it took him a second. I do infact think he crossed the plane, he fell short of the TD but while he was in the air he definetly crossed it in my opinion, at least pausing it and going frame by frame it looks like it did, not by much but it did.

The refs definetly were too much a part of this game BUT in the end I dont think they cost the seahawks the game, they just didnt make the plays. And yes the offensive pass interference was crappy, but its technically a proper call, and they were probably just jittery and trying to not make any bad decisions and calling everything. Hey that fumble by stevens which they called a dropped pass was a pretty important call that went against the steelers since it was extremely obviously a fumble. He caught the ball turned and took a step(thats like 2 football moves) and then dropped it.

The refs did not give the steelers the game.

Ben definitely crossed the plane. However it's the ball that has to break the plane, and it didn't the defender's hand is in there knocking it back and the ball is in Ben's stomach when he is down.

I won't say the Seahawks played their best football, but I would also say their biggest mistakes came right after the most questionable calls. Heck, I suspect the Steelers would have still scored on the next play after the Roethlisberger "TD."

it doesnt matter where the ball is when you land...as long as the ball goes across the plane before the whistle is blown its a TD....the ball and Bens hand barely and i mean barely crossed that plane in mid air before it was knocked back to his stomach....if you watch it frame by frame you'll see that.

See, I'm not convinced that it touched the plane. I'm pretty sure for that matter, that it didn't. The defender's hand was over the plane from the other side, and from what physics has taught us, two things can't exist in the same place at the same time.

The plane goes up in the sky perpetually. Once the ball while Ben is in the air crosses the plane no matter by how little it is a touchdown. It doesnt have to hit the ground on the endzone to be a touchdown and when ben jumped it seems clear to me that the ball while ben was in the air did ever so slightly cross the plane.

Right, I know the rule. The only time I saw the ball get close to the plane, the defender's hand was across the plane from the other side and knocking the ball back.

The ref in question, by the way, has one of the lowest ratios when it comes to turning over plays.

even if it wasnt a touchdown...(i still believe it was) there wasnt enough evidence to over turn it.

Uh, no. :p

I went to one game and wasn't impressed. The fans are 80% idiots... And the fans I work with here acknowledge that too.

All I'll say is I felt more comfortable going for the two-point conversion than the PAT.

And you're one to talk... How was this season for your boys Claire?

Nice to fake an injury when your season's down the toilet. Oooh, let me look injured! :p

And at least we have wide receivers.

Tough year, for sure. But McNabb's injury was real. As was TO's stupidity.

I have to admit, it's better to get the crap kicked out of you IN the Super Bowl than at home, watching it.
