This film is just being released in the UK.
Went to a free showing of it last night; what a truly enjoyable film. Thought they portrayed Cash and Carter very well.
One of the few movies recently that I have wanted to stand up and applaude at the end of the film.
What do other LD members think of this film?

I absolutely adored the movie. I've been a Johnny Cash fan ever since I was a little kid, but I never knew much about his relationship with June. I love how the film illustrates in a painfully clear manner how their relationship truly saved his life. It's a shame the film wasn't nominated for Best Picture.

Couldn't agree more with your comments. I cannot understand how it has been missed out of Best Film category. Was it perhaps released too early in the US?

^ No, becuase Crash which was released earlier than Walk the Line got a nomination for Best Picture.

Yeah. "Crash" really picked up a lot of steam with the DVD release. Critics kept reinforcing how good it was; although, I beg to differ. Also, critics didn't give up on "Munich" and "Capote". All of the movies nominated have some sort of socio-political theme embedded in them, or at least that's how they're perceived. "Walk the Line" was an uplifting and beautiful biopic--not controversial at all. I guess the Academy figured that giving the lead actors nominations was enough.

I loved this movie... I hope it gets some Oscars. I was thinking and maybe the Academy doesnt give the best movie to Brokeback Mountain... So I think Walk the Line has a big chance to win

This movie shook my deeply. Can't remember last time iI've seen a movie that did this for me. Probably LOTR... in another way 'course. What I mean is this is the kind of movie that stays in ur head for a while. I caught myself sitting somewhere staring into space thinking about the movie, days after I'd seen it. Usually I would go to the theatre, watch a movie, talk about it as I leave the theatre and switch the topic as we reach the car.

I love this movie, especially the performance of both actors and the soundtrack
