I don't think Emo and Goth are the same thing. Simple Plan considers themselves Emo, as do Hoobastank. They don't look Goth to me. Evanescence is more Goth.

What bands are considered emo? Even My Chemical Romance say that they are not emo anymore.

It doesn't seem to be a tag that bands wear proudly.

rites of spring is emo or like indian summer (1971) but thats the good stuff, before emo got all pop, now emo is like a joke, i mean comparing rites of spring to taking back sunday or thursday and brand new is almost insulting. but the emo girls and guys are ridiculously hot.
