no, I got that from the RIAA site (and a fan site) and they only count the sales for USA.

5 million is definately just the US. Aaron's Party has sold 3 million alone, and I'm pretty sure that Oh Aaron went platinum. Planetaaron.net use to have all that information.

When you consider the fact that his first CD alone, worldwide, went platinum in at least one country and gold in over 10, that alone is roughly 6 million, and that's using information from VERY old records. I'd say worldwide, probably close or a little over 20 million. I remember hearing the #.

And I don't think that even includes singles...His singles have always had pretty good success too.

^When you think that he's sold at least 5 million just in the US, I find it hard to believe that it was 6 million worldwide, considering just his REAL FIRST CD went platinum in at least one country, which is 1 million. Then add that it went gold in 10 countries, which makes 5 million. That is 6 mil worldwide, just from his first CD, plus the 5 mil in the US that isn't counting singles and such, it adds up quickly. Plus, all the new versions he has released over the years. It amounts. And keep in mind, that's not counting singles (several of which have gone gold/platinum, although the system is different), videos and DVDs (more gold/platinum).

Platinum means 1 million copies sold in US. In other countries it doesn't take as many copies sold to be platinum. In Spain for example, platinum means 100000 copies sold only. It depends on how many people live in that country.

Aaron has released 4 CDs, but Oh Aaron and Another Earthquake was only released in certain parts of Europe and Asia. As far as I know neither of those albums have gone Gold or Platinum overseas. I'd still say the worldwide total is between 10-15 million.
