Being a big fan of the books and having read them countless times, my favorite would be Half-Blood Prince story-wise and writing-wise. It is so dynamic and dark and really suspenseful. Also, you notice how Jk has grown as a writer, having a better writing style. My next would be Goblet and then OOTP.

I used to like The Prisoner or Azkaban .. but hearing that The Chamber of Secrets and The Half-Blood Prince are closely tied to the 7th book makes me appreciate them more. I especially like The Half-Blood Prince because it was a lot more dark than the others.

My favorite book is the one everyone says is the most boring, which is The Prisoner of Azkaban... I just love that book.

hmmm well i do like the later books better than the earlier ones, because i like watching the Ron/Hermione storyline develop. So that would narrow it down to books 3-7, at least being better than 1 and 2. I don't think i can really pick a favorite, i'd just have it narrowed down to books 3-7. But if i HAD to pick just one favorite......i guess i'd say...............7

I agree with summerlight00. The first one was the best. If the first one wasn't as good as it is, then no one would've bothered reading the rest.

Half Blood Prince, I'm currently re-reading it.

I actually just got finished reading the whole series for the first time and I finished them all in five weeks. I bought the first one the weekend that Deathly Hallows came out.

Now I'm officially addicted!

I like the books from OOTP onwards because it's getting to all the action but then again I like all of them and can actually reread them over and over without getting bored!

It's hard for me to pick out just one .. since each story grew progressively, it made me just love the series in general.

I used to claim that the Prisoner of Azkaban was my favorite, but now I'm not so sure.

I've re-read HBP and DH so far, like immediately after I finished the series. I've put a few weeks time between then and now and last night I started back with Sorcerer's Stone so I'm gonna re-read the first five.

OOTP was the hardest to get through for me. I loved the movie, saw it four times in theatres, tried for five but didn't make it. But like someone said elsewhere, I guess I just really didn't like Harry much in the book, but I like him way better in the movie. I just kept having to make myself pick up the book and keep reading. It took me the longest to read, a week.

Before DH came out by favs were GOF & HBP, now it's definitely DH.

I love the Prisoner of Azkaban , that and Half-Blood Prince . You see harry mature so much in all of them but I see alot more in those too .
