View Full Version : The Great Outdoors Board

Anybody interested in having a board for a broad range of subjects pertaining to the great outdoors? These subjects can include nature, parks, old historic sites (both 'tourist traps' as well as little known places still left in the wild), hiking trails, annual events such as grist mill crank ups, old engine shows, Native American powwows, general explorations out in the wild, etc. Oh, and also have this board with the image codes turned on so people can share pictures of some of the places they have traveled to as well.
I'm definitely for this. In fact if we had one, it just may become about the only board I find myself posting on a regular basis. :)
Anybody else interested in having a board like this?

Anyway, here are just a few examples in pictures I took recently of the kinds of things I was talking about just to give people some ideas:
This is a good example of a mid-1800's historic site still out in the wild.

Oops! ...had to go back and edit a patent date. I'm glad that when I go on photographic forays like these I like to take pictures of everything!

On a footnote here since I started this post, I find it to be interesting how western history is taught from a cultural perspective and not from the total perspective, and through modern times people have forgotten what they had built their very first roadways upon. There's a lot of valuable information missing from western history courses taught in general, but it's out there if you know where to look.
Hiking can be more than just exercise; it can be a complete adventure, and with photography too. :)
