--Liz Smith of New York Post (http://www.nypost.com/gossip/liz/liz.htm) writes: Up next for Daniels [Lee, director] is "Tennessee" with Mariah Carey, who must not be judged on the campfest that was "Glitter." She was actually very, very good in "WiseGirls."

--On a recent episode of Oprah After The Show, a lady asked Oprah about her outfit, and when she got to the shoes she said, "But these shoes, look at these, these are ridiculous [crowd cheers]. These shoes were given to me by...uh, Mariah Carey was on and she's, you know, these are some 'Come get me shoes' or 'Go get yourself' or something. 'Come on over here and talk to me' shoes."

--Recently on her own reality show on BET, singer Keisha Cole was in the studio doing a track for Puff Diddy and she was singing and kept messing up. She finally gave up and said, "I'm getting Mariah Carey in here."

--On AOL's Top 111 Wussiest Songs of All Time (http://music.aol.com/feature/111-wussiest-songs-51-42), "Hero" by Mariah Carey ranked at #49.

"Mariah Carey (1993) - Even the recording academy thought this hit was too sugary for its own good. Despite the song's presence at telethons, tributes and kiddie concerts, the '95 Grammy for Pop Female Vocalist went to Sheryl Crow's 'All I Wanna Do.' Proof that fun in the sun trumps multi-octave soul-searching."

--Mariah's alleged "meltdown" on July 19, 2001 lands at #19 on MTV's 25 Memorable Moments (http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/arts/AP-MTV-at-25.html?_r=1&oref=slogin).

--From Inside Bay Area (http://www.insidebayarea.com/music/ci_4106998): As far as young pop stars go, Christina Aguilera can sing circles around the likes of Britney Spears, Beyonce and Gwen Stefani. She's just a notch below Mariah Carey — she of the five-octave voice — when it comes to pure vocal ability.
