MetroSource News Wire:

(Columbus, OH) -- Columbus, Ohio Police arrested former Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett shortly before 3:00 this morning following a brief chase on the city's east side. Police say they spotted an SUV driving erratically near Interstate-70 and then followed it onto the Interstate. The SUV, driven by Clarett, then made a U-turn along the interstate. Officers used stop-sticks on the roadway, but the vehicle continued on with a flat tire. The SUV finally came to rest in a restaurant parking lot after it struck a police cruiser. Clarett was taken into custody after police were forced to use Mace and a Taser gun to subdue him. A loaded assault rifle, a handgun, a hatchet and an open bottle of vodka were found inside the SUV. Clarett was also wearing a bulletproof vest. He was scheduled to appear later today in court in Columbus for a hearing regarding an earlier aggravated robbery charge.

Considering he had the hearing scheduled for today, I think we really have to wonder what the arsenal was for.
