:hah: Well, there's one good thing that came of this mess, it kept Schumer out of the U.S. where he can't do any more damage. I'm surprised Chuck didn't throw a hissy fit and say "Don't you Brits know who I am?" and demand to be given special treatment. I'm sure Chuck will call for a "probe" of the Brits' security system...

Vacationing N.Y. senator stuck at London airport

WASHINGTON - So much for Sen. Chuck Schumer's European vacation: the New York Democrat and his family got stuck at London's Heathrow Airport in Thursday's terror sweep.

"I am very tired - it's been a long day," said an exhausted-sounding Schumer after spending all day either on a tarmac-trapped plane or riding a shuttle between terminals in an eight-hour quest for his luggage.

"We must have gone back and forth about six times," he said. "I now know the shuttle in Heathrow better than I know (New York City's) D train."

Schumer had expected to land for a two-hour layover before flying to Amsterdam. Told that the flight may well be delayed until Sunday, Schumer and his wife, New York City Department of Transportation Commissioner Iris Weinshall, tried to find another way to get there, but struck out.

"We just don't know what will happen with this vacation, or if we'll get to the mainland of Europe," he said.

He said the Brits did as good a job as possible with all the stranded travelers, but it was still chaos.

"It looked like a scene out of a war - not that there was any damage - but there were all these refugees," he said, adding that lines snaked out of the terminals for what seemed like a mile.

Schumer and his wife were still trying to figure out what they would do Thursday night. "I guess we're going to explore London," he said.

Why would you assume (you know what they say about that word, right Richie?) that Schumer would be obnoxious?

Oh, that's right, you ASSume a lot of things.

One only has to watch Chuck "Where's the camera?" Schumer to know he's obnoxious and arrogant. The guy can't get his mug on TV often enough.

He's a politician, and 99% of them are that way. Given the fact that a major terrorist attack had just been thwarted, I can't see him being a jerk about not getting home on time.

Of course, he's a Democrat, so there's absolutely nothing good about him.
