Kevin Federline: Living on a Prayer of Success

For the first time, Britney Spears' husband, Kevin Federline, is opening up about his finances and a dirty secret from his past.

"He made money through what he calls 'criminal mischief,'" revealed GQ's Associate Editor Mickey Rapkin.

The aspiring rap artist opened up about his shady past to the men's magazine, describing how he supported himself as a teenager.

"He delivered pizzas, but also admits he made money through what he calls criminal mischief," Rapkin said. "He appears to be remorseful about the criminal mischief but admits that's where he came from and had to make ends meet."

Rapkin also told us Federline set the record straight about his finances, stating, "I don't rely on my wife's money. I don't get any money from my wife."

So how did K-Fed finagle that sweet Ferrari? "He says that they split his Ferrari 50-50," Rapkin revealed. "But otherwise he doesn't take money from her."

Despite the fancy cars and hip-hop swagger, Kevin openly admitted he's hurting for cash right now.

"Kevin says that he's broke," Rapkin dished. "He made $2 million on the reality show 'Chaotic,' spent $200,000 on an engagement ring for his wife, bought an in-home recording studio and really has spent the rest of the money on the album."

As K-Fed gears up for the fall launch of his debut album on his new label, Federation Records, he's making ends meet with a fashion endorsement deal and making promotional appearances at nightclubs.

Meanwhile, his fourth child, and second baby with Britney, is also due in October.

While Kevin describes his early days with the Princess of Pop as rocky, claiming Britney played hard to get and he nearly walked away, he now jokes that once Mama Spears loses the baby weight, they'll get on stage together and perform.

Catch the rest of Kevin's revealing interview when GQ hits newsstands next week.

Who knows, but it sounds like something pretty standard in a prenump. Just another example of a story being created where none exists.

Headline should read: Kevin Federline: Living off of Britney's Cloud Of Success.

She's such a sweet person, it's sad that she's letting this crackhead use her. Love is a crazy little bitch.

I'm curious...what's most of this board's opinion on K-Fed? Like him, hate him, no real op (it's Brit's personal business)?

^Personally, I don't think most people here would like him at ALL if he wasn't attached to Spears. That may be an opinion, but I don't see any other reason for people liking him.

He's not talented, not unique not really personable, hasn't done anything to warrant anybody's approval. To me he's the kinda guy I can find myself telling "No, sorry...I used my last bit of change".

But it SEEMS that the Britney fans take dislike of FederCheese or anything related in any way to Britney as a dig towards her. Seems they want him to succeed because they believe if he doesn't it's more bad press for Britney. Which is really funny, considering the press got worse AFTER she got with him.

I don't wanna start any problems, but I honestly don't see her relationship as being any healthier than that of Whitney and Bobby's. I hope Britney has more sense than Whitney in the long run, but both seriously married below themselves. This isn't a dig towards Britney in any way. I've loved the wrong people before. It happens. It happens.

Actually I did know about him as a dancer before. So based on that he seemed okay. He's just a normal person.

If Britney met someone else who dare I say it looked cleaner or whatever (even though it's not about appearance or whatever), and this person had a steady job people will stay say he is a free loader. But because Kevin comes from some where else that's not "acceptable" for a huge a$$ pop star people will immediately scrutinize, and misconstrue things about him. In interviews he's funny, and nice. I can see why Britney loves him. He's real that's why.

He is trying. But since because he was labelled so early on (kind of like Britney was labelled) It's hard for him to do anything in the entertainment business because he will be bashed.

I disagree, and you have no way of knowing this.

Perhaps if the guy were "cleaner" as you say, and everything surrounding Kevin, and the relationship went on, then maybe...but you have to realize celebrities date below themselves ALL THE TIME. Most don't pretty much beg a guy to marry them, and only get it when they make all of the errangments. And that's cool if Britney wants to do that, she DOES love the guy..bottom line is she shouldn't have to. And whether you say she didn't have to or whatever, it's basically a known fact that she did.

But, I'm telling you now. If Kevin was clean-cut, had no baggage, wasn't running back and forth from Britney to Shar, and proposed to Britney, and handled the ring, and crap on his own NOBODY who is 100% serious would call him a Freeloader.

I forgot all about her buying her own ring. How lame.

Thanks, Frankie.
