Anyone familiar with the classic Zone episode "The Monsters are Due on Maple Street"? That's what this flight diversion today reminds me of: Give people a reason to worry and watch the paranoia set in.

A 60-year-old woman has an anxiety attack on a flight from London. The flight was diverted from DC to Boston and the woman is now under arrest. Meanwhile the stories on the plane ranged from her having a bottle of vasiline, a screwdriver and a note about Al Qaeda to three suspicious men on board.

In response to the issue the issue, a Massachusetts congressman said that more planes will be turned around because of the terrorist no-fly list. This had nothing to do with the list!

And people wonder why I wonder about the warings from Camp Dubaya...

They arrested a woman because she had an anxiety attack on a transatlantic flight? I guess I haven't heard this story yet, and I suppose that's why it makes no sense to me whatsoever.

I've put it up so Regis doesn't come in blaring that she was planning on blowing up a bridge or something.
