Thai Police: Man Admits Killing Ramsey

BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) -- An American suspect arrested in Bangkok has admitted to killing 6-year-old JonBenet Ramsey, the head of Thailand immigration police said, a surprise breakthrough in a lurid, decade-old murder mystery that had cast a cloud of suspicion over her parents.

Specifically the ones they've already sued for defamation.

Suspect arrested in JonBenet Ramsey case

Online clues lead to former schoolteacher now in Thailand

Thursday, August 17, 2006; Posted: 12:05 a.m. EDT (04:05 GMT)

(CNN) -- A suspect was arrested in Bangkok, Thailand, Wednesday "for the December 26, 1996, murder of JonBenet Ramsey," the district attorney in Boulder, Colorado, said Wednesday.

A law enforcement source identified the suspect as 41-year-old John Mark Karr, a one-time schoolteacher and American citizen who has lived in Conyers, Georgia.

It is the first arrest in the decade-long investigation of the 6-year-old beauty pageant contestant's slaying. The case was the subject of suspicion and speculation and provided years of fodder for the news networks and the tabloids.

Karr had been communicating with someone in Boulder and that online communications played a key role in leading authorities to him, law enforcement sources said.

Karr has confessed to some elements of the crime and is under investigation for an unrelated sex crime, the sources told CNN.

Karr's arrest followed "several months of focused and complex investigation," said District Attorney Mary Lacy, who led the probe.

He was arrested Wednesday at his apartment in central Bangkok, Thai police said.

Avoiding, of course, that some of his favorites are part of the litigation.

Sadly it seems as though the case may not be solved after all. Sounds like this guy is trying to get his 15 minutes of fame (or is just nuts, which is a possibility) by claiming responsibility, but his DNA doesn't match and his ex-wife and others have said he wasn't near Colorado when it happened.

Hope someday the surviving Ramsey's get closure on this, but I don't think it's happening yet.

So let us all wonder if Regis will show himself now that Mr. Karr has not been charged due to lack of DNA evidence.

And Pinky LOL I totally believe that Fox News is honest and full of integrity *snorts*
